环境5.0.有五个部分。

#1 E5.0 Install main. (主要安装部分)
#2 Other Clouds. (另外一套云彩)
#3 Submarines Splash Sound.(潜艇加强起伏产生压水花声音)
#4 Ships Reflect. (所有船的倒影)
#5 Depthcharge Sound (深水炸弹爆炸水面、水下潜艇外部和潜艇内部的声效)

环境5.0主要调整了:
调整了各个时段的云,特别强调了云的外形动态变化。日出前后的天空与海的色彩也作了很大的调整,使得日出更 加的真实。
调整了潜艇在大风浪的中的上下前后起伏幅度,然而使得船头压海水的水花特效和水花溅起的声效。
调整了海水的水面和水下的基本色更接近大西洋。特别强调从早上到中午海水因为日照所产生的颜色 变化。
修正了环境4.7的雾BUG。
彻底消除了海与天交界的那条该死的线。
重新制作了深水炸弹爆炸水花的特效。
用真实声音制作的深水炸弹爆炸水面、水下潜艇外部和潜艇内部的声效。
所有版本的船倒影作了调整。
晚上的海水也调整了亮度。

---Adjust the cloud, with special emphasis on the dynamic changes in the shape of the clouds. Before and after sunrise the color of the sky and the sea also made a lot of adjustments made even more true sunrise.

2. Adjustment fog makes more sense of distance.

The biggest difficulty is to change the shape of the cloud when it moving. SH4 of the original cloud in the shape of the change in the mobile, this is a very realistic clouds.

Today, a look at adjusting the clouds. To enhance the reflection of clouds.

Here are two different sets of clouds, I feel #2 more #1 better, however, the # 2

clouds unrealistic the at day . and tnen the # 1 clouds reality at day . Ah

After efforts to finally change the shape of a cloud when it is moving .This is a small victory for me.

Now there are many problems to be solved, I am a perfectionist, the completion of the 5.0 needed for a long time. I am worried, and so on to complete a 5.0, the silent Hunter 5 has released . Ha ha ha ha LOL....:hmm:

Change the shape of the clouds is: to rely on two floors of the overlap in different directions, when the overlap, the cloud will change shape.
When the two-clouds not overlapthe second layer of cloud can not show,Can not processing the first cloudsl to thick .The second clouds according to the first clouds to adjust its contrast.:damn:
and then start to adjust the four parameters of the CloudsPS.fx At the same time need to adjust the contrast of the two-clouds.:damn: ............

Okay now I know how you are working with the clouds, yes it's very dificult to work with the cloud-layers and the shaders at the same time, but it pays out in the end, but it's alot of hard work :roll:

It's a shame the clouds are made like that by the developers, it's allso a shame that the cloud shadow, don't work correctly... I hope that SH5 takes care of some of these issues :) Anyway looking forward to hear the water splash from the submarine :up:

呵呵,是大名鼎鼎的w_clear前辈啊?小弟是sh4的新人,前不久才刚刚接触猎杀潜航,所以最近非常痴 迷于潜艇游戏和各种资料及技术,到中国虚拟舰队论坛去挖了好多旧坟帖子出来看,呵呵。还去土豆上看了元首的 八部sh3的视频,感觉受益匪浅啊。不过,以前的银河竞技论坛是不是关闭了?好像一直进不去。国内感觉现在 玩sh的人挺少的啊,没几个论坛讨论的,现在我除了舰队论坛就是到拉法叶论坛上去转转,请问能推荐几个比较 好的关于潜艇及舰艇的论坛给我么?
您的环境mod我下了4.6版本的,感觉太美了!今天上来看了下,都有5.0的啦?呵呵,请问我打了4.6 后现在要按照什么顺序升级到5.0呢?还有,这么好的mod,怎么在国内没的下啊?很多mod都在file front,国内没法下载,我现在都要用付费的代理去下载。能否给我个国内的下载地址?非常感谢!

目前环境的版本是4.9.你可以删除4.6,再安装置顶的4.7、4.8、4.9,具体看置顶贴的安装方法 。环境5.0正在制作当中,等完成了一定给你国内的下载链接。请问一个问题:你的英语水平如何 ?

呵呵,谢谢,我去试试看。我大学毕业两年了,现在机关工作,虽然白天挺忙但晚上比较无聊,所以就逛论坛和玩 sh啦。至于英语水平,我是大二时候拿了六级的优秀,但到现在这么久很少碰过英语了,真是惭愧啊,不过还有 些底子,基本的游戏英语还是认得的,阅读能力也还可以,不然就去玩sh3而不是sh4了,呵呵。此外,对军 事方面也有些爱好,但以前对舰艇方面不是很关注,现在玩了sh,突然对二战的舰船特别是潜艇很感兴趣,所以 最近都在恶补这些知识,呵呵。在虚拟论坛上看了您和以前战队的战报,感觉您在舰船方面造诣很深啊,以后不懂 之处还要向您讨教。此外,如果您有什么需要帮忙的尽管说我一定尽我所能。

I would try but would not know where to begin. Access to star coordinates, magnitudes and colors are readily available, yet even with that information at hand the location of the star fields within SH4 is obscure. There must be a database somewhere in the \Data folder. I will look but perhaps someone might have an idea where it might be? Maybe it's just a matter of expanding this database. If that is all there is to it I'ld be willing and able to deliver. Any scrap of information will send Scurvy Dog on his merry way.

I think I have found a bug in Enviromental 5.0. installation sequence when running RFB with RSRDC mods. Since I have installed the mod (as per instructions i.e. last to be installed), I have no control over my diving depth. As soon as I dive I go straight to the bottom & cannot even surface. It just keeps on going down until the sub implodes.
This hiccup has only started to happen since installing this mod. Enviromental 4.5 which I had before this ran fine.

Any comments please:-? :-? :-?

P.S. Since posting I have tried installing it prior to installing the RFB & RSRDC mods & this gives me back my diving controls.

Hi W_clear. Your latest mod is fantastic:rock: The most realistic water I saw in this sim.
The only problem I encountered is the fact that, in my install, Env5.0 brings detection distances (both AI and own sub) down to the original values of SH4, near 9 kms, instead of the 16+ kms instated by the latest patches.
Is this as designed? If yes, what should I do to bring detection back to the 16 kms that are native for the game, and still enjoy the other features of your mod?

Excellent work W_Clear! Your water and cloud effects adds a whole new world of immersion to this game. Because of you, kriller2 and the other great modders here, I frequently use 1x TC, turn the volume up on my 7.1, lock to external cam and just enjoy the sound and waves on my 30" Gateway XHD3000.

IM pretty sure it's not just me, but who else uses this game as a screensaver?! =P Again great work!

Do you know what I want to change it? I tell you.
1. When periscope above the water, not only wake up, and have some form.
2. In addition to the bow of the WaveFoam, The left \ right starboard of the ship, there are also a little WaveFoam.
3. Deck gun in the shooting, should be the black smoke, not white.
4. -8 meters wind speed of the waves to begin have seafoem.

That's a pity.
In real from very close distance the sub watercovered level can scarcely ever be seen. None at all if it moves even at very low speed.

There's been extensive talk about it here. Just search the forum for roll and pitch and you'll find a number of threads discussing the matter. In my case, I found that the most effective approach to the problem consists into doing 3 things:
- in the *.sim file of sub (e.g. NSS_Uboat9d2.sim) I moved the gravity center a little bit higher. WARNING: do it in small steps, because if you rise it too much the sub will capsize
- I reduced the hydro drag (horizontal and vertical) to almost nothing (very small values, about one tenth of the original)
- I changed the fr_ratio parameter from a default 0.5 upward (about 0.4 in the case of the IXD2 sub), which moves the GC a little bit to the front of the boat, so that the bow will follow the waves more accurately.
I repeat, it's just my personal opinion that the sub moves more naturally with these changes.
BTW, the tool to make all these changes is the splendid piece of software named S3D (thank you again for it, Skwasjer)

How would I go about adding this to the extra uboats added in the operation monsun mod. Can anyone help?

No, this acts only upon the physics of subs in water and does not mess in any way with W_clear's settings.

How would I go about adding this to the extra uboats added in the operation monsun mod. Can anyone help?

From what I saw, the hydro physics of these extra uboats is OK and don't require and tweak. Anyway, I left them untouched and they behave well in high seas.

Small issue here:

Activating "Submarine Splash Sound" file eliminates the caustic effects on the sides of the sub.

Hello all....

First off, incredible work W_clear....you and Kriller make it very difficult to decide which environmental mod to use every time I boot SH4 up.... prettiest game I own, hands down.

Now on to the issues- I seem to be having a problem with the modifications the 'Submarine Splash Sound' portion of your mod makes. I am in a Sargo class vessel, early years of the war, and after applying this found that I could no longer dive normally below about 50 feet, and that if I gave the 'Crash Dive' command I *could* indeed get the sub down to 160 feet, but then something very interesting happened- it bobbed straight up back to the surface like a cork. Only realizing this while in the middle of a convoy of warships including two Kongo BB's made for a bit of a surprise.

I have removed all other mods and the problem remains, but when I unload 'Submarine Splash Sound' it fixes itself. Short of installing this one mod first so things like TMO will over-write the files, do you know of any way to fix this and still maintain the actual effect of having the splashing sound?

It is these little surprizes that make me go over all mods with a fine tooth comb before I install.

I just love those unintended consequences that can pop up seemingly from out of nowhere. Sometimes I think many of the "I have a weird thing happening" threads we read can be attributed to mods with unrelated inclusions.

If you don't like it ,you can delete Sh4/Data/Cfg/Sim.cfg and Sh4/Data/Library/AI_Sensors.dat from EE5.0.

Hello all....

First off, incredible work W_clear....you and Kriller make it very difficult to decide which environmental mod to use every time I boot SH4 up.... prettiest game I own, hands down.

Now on to the issues- I seem to be having a problem with the modifications the 'Submarine Splash Sound' portion of your mod makes. I am in a Sargo class vessel, early years of the war, and after applying this found that I could no longer dive normally below about 50 feet, and that if I gave the 'Crash Dive' command I *could* indeed get the sub down to 160 feet, but then something very interesting happened- it bobbed straight up back to the surface like a cork. Only realizing this while in the middle of a convoy of warships including two Kongo BB's made for a bit of a surprise.

I have removed all other mods and the problem remains, but when I unload 'Submarine Splash Sound' it fixes itself. Short of installing this one mod first so things like TMO will over-write the files, do you know of any way to fix this and still maintain the actual effect of having the splashing sound?

What level of submarines you run?

Maybe you misunderstood...I did delete these. My point was that these types of "unexpected" inclusions should not be there in the first place.

Lurker has noted here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=987750&postcount=839) that it is generally compatible (with the exception of the sim.cfg file and the Submarine Splash component), but Operation Monsun 5 does overwrite a number of files in the #4 Ships Reflect component and I'm wondering what effect it will have on the mod.

With that install order you have broken most of what makes OMV400 tick by overwriting key elements with EE 5.0.

I installed the MOD and again: congrats :up: , nice job.

Anyway could you please tell me exactly how to remove the transparency of water around the sub so that the lower watercovered part shouldn't be seen from the surface.

PE 4.0 does not solve this problem either. RFB 1.4 did so, but it is not compatible with the Cold War MOD which I don't intend to forgo.

Hi guys, it's great that you can make something this beautifull but it's killing my CPU. So it is laggy, Frames per seconds are killing me:shifty:

I have installed RFB 1.52 lately ( before that i had 1.51 )
Could it be that RFB is causing me such low fps??

Or is it this mod that contains much more files than 4.6?

PS: without this mod it plays like the old days :hmm:

It's how the water shader is programmed that causes this and has something to do how the water reflects light, if you notice you will only get this "neon" water line when near shore, because of the shallow depth. You can try sail away from shore to see if it goes away.

On your picture the water is calm 0m waves, in these conditions you should be able to see the submarines hull if you look at it from an high angle.

Well thank you and my goal is for folks to enjoy this sim with all these great mods. Of course when we combine some mods there can be issues but if done carefully and with some knowledge it can be quite rewarding.

W_Clears work is just fantastic and pretty much run it all the time with OM with very good results. I think tonight I will post my JSGME activated mod list for you to look at.

The latest RFB comes with Kriller's PE Mod integrated already. If you're trying to use EE with RFB, I would think there may be a problem:hmm:

This looks like something you will have to go at yourself unless someone has done it for their own personal install. Looks like you are developing your own Big Mod there.

Yeah, looks like you need to do some testing with NSM4 and the order in which you place it. But, and this is a big but, how can you play without TMO or RFB or RSRD?:arrgh!:

What's the water line fix you mention? I'm using TMO 1.62 and not sure if I need that or not? Ducimus implemented EE 5.0 for TMO 1.62.

What's the water line fix you mention? I'm using TMO 1.62 and not sure if I need that or not? Ducimus implemented EE 5.0 for TMO 1.62.

1) Yes I think it should work with SH4 1.4, if you don't install the submarines splash part of the mod.
2) No EE 5 is not compatible with PE4, it's 2 different mods, but this problem will soon be taken care of with me and W_clears common project "the real environment mod" which are very close to completion.

@W_clear I hope it's okay with you I try to answer the question regarding your mod :DL

I've just come back to SH IV, after a long hiatus, and can't believe the work that has been done by the modding community. The Environmental 5.0 mod provides an amazing and dramatic change to the game's visuals. Great work!

I'm having an issue, though, with my 4th patrol (May 1942) and the USS Drum. After having used JSGME to install the Environmental 5.0 Mod, and it's 2.0 patch, the sub sinks to the bottom of the ocean, when trying to submerge to periscope depth. Nothing can reverse its decent into the abyss.

The only other modification that I've made to the game is to install custom skins for the USS Drum. I did this by hand, without the use of JSGME (4 total files, 2 in Data, 2 in Textures).

Of course, I'd love to keep the E 5.0 mod AND my current career, but if one has to go, then I'll start a new career.

Any help in troubleshooting the problem would be greatly appreciated!

I've just left Pearl Harbor, and have had no encounters. I did, however, install the Environmental 5.0 mod, after starting this particular patrol. I think that I was about a day out from Pearl, when I saved the game and quit. I spent 2 hours following the Environmental mod threads from version 1.4 to version 5, last night, and installed the mod this morning. I installed the main mod (#1), last, as was instructed by W_Clear in his thread posts, and readme file.

The install order was as follows:

1) #2 Other Clouds
2) #3 Submarines Splash
3) #4 Ships Reflect
4) #5 Depthcharge Sound
5) #1 E5.0 Install Main
6) EE5.0 Patch 2.0

Got a question though. After I installed this mod (had installed RFB 1.52 and PE4 before, was to lazy to revert to non-PE4 and just enabled Env5.0 on top of it) the camera in the control room is weird. I can't use the free movement there anymore. Which file would be responsable for that ?

Hey, we've had discussion (fight?) after discussion (argument?) about the correct color of water. Well, I stumbled into a scientific article on exactly that, along with an easily replicated experiment so you can demonstrate its truth: there IS an intrinsic correct color for water. No, it isn't purple!

I think Kriller and WClear worked separately on PacificEnvironment and Envronment5.
They then combined their talents and released RealEnvironment.
That is probably why this thread is no longer supported.

Sorry, I can't find a link for it anywhere. I got rid of the file over a year ago, as TMO uses this enviornmental mod as a base with a few tweaks made by Ducimus so that it was compatable with TMO.

Guess you could DL TMO and pull the env files out if someone doesn't find it...been looking for Env 5 myself and all links are dead, so that's what I did, cept I used TMO1.9 as I don't think it has as many TMO tweaks to it, but it's close enough.

this is a grafics mod so it changes things as far as eye candy but in doing that the changes also can alter the way sensors work in the game so you have to judge for yourself what it does.

post your question in the OM+OMEGU ,,, TMO+RSRD mod threads, they are the only ones who know what it will do to their mods.

this "could" fix your water without changing the way TMO AI works.

always try to keep the game changing mods intact and unchanged whenever possible and make any needed changes or in this case deletions to the mods that change eye candy stuff

it doesn't "always" work but it often will do the trick, you just have to understand what the files you remove do so you know if it will affect the end result your trying to achieve

I know I'm bringing this thread out of dead, I just found out about 5.0 (have been running 4.6 until now) but I have a question. Everything works fine, looks trully amazing but I'm missing the moon.... :doh:
The reflection on water and objects is there but the moon itself is missing. I even checked moon.dds, it is correct, with correct alpha channels.

Any idea?

Strange, never heard of a moon not showing problem with this mod. Is it possible the moon simply isn't out. In the game, if there is no moon, a reflection of light on the water will show on the horizon, but no moon.

You running any other mods?

1 - it changes the entire environment around you, to what extent it changes and how noticeable it is varies depending on weather and location and such. the water color may not change in all areas because it is the modders opinion and if he likes the water color in one area he may not try to change that water color. which blue or green color the water should look like has been and will continue to be a constant source of disagreement with players and modders alike.

2 - real environment is a combination of the two most popular environment mods at the time, PE - pacific environment and ENV 5 - environment 5. there is a lot more to it then just colors and explosions but I think the main difference for people was the water colors and the explosions in deciding which mod to use. finally the mod makers of both mods joined their work into one mod and tried to use the most popular elements from both mods plus do a little more refining of each in a collaborative work that was called real environments. the PE and ENV mods were never updated since before real environments was released so they are the oldest but they still will work fine if you like them as is. there is a newer environment mod now called ISE which tried to be the successor to real environment but I don't know much about that one although people seam to like it.

3 - no, you install #1 and that's the entire complete mod. numbers 2-5 are extra mods to add to it for specific other changes you might like. I have found those extra ad-on mods often cause issues with other mods so I never use them.

4 - im not sure but if it says that then it is true. environment changes do affect sensors so that's why the big mods TMO and RFB have built in environment mods within the mod itself to make sure sensors and the AI work correctly so you don't use or need an environment mod when using those mods but if you choose to add one then the sensors and possibly the way ships sink could be changed.

5 - again, igf it says it then it is true but I think that refers to the hard coded unfixable stock game flaw where if you order your sub to dive its up to you to order when to stop it or it keeps diving until you implode. crash dive has a set depth to stop at but regular dive order has no preset stopping point. I wouldn't call it a bug but more of a mistake people make because such as with real life if you order a dive they need another order to tell them to stop the dive.

Real Env is the latest, although mods like TMO use a tweaked version of Env5.
If you choose to run Real Env, you'll need the lite fog patch. However, it may cause some sensor issues with other mods, but you'll probably never notice it.

There are no moon issues in Real Env or any of the other Env. mods. Something you're doing is causing this issue. It sounds like the moon texture is missing...

I actually checked the texture in game directory. It is there, not corrupted with alpha channels intact. I have already finished, maybe, 6 patrols with Env 5.0 but I'm yet to see the moon. As I said all the object/ocean reflections are there just no moon... :(

OMGEU is an environmental mod itself so I would say no. However since Op Monsun by itself doesn't mess with the environment it should be ok with it.

When I use this mod my free camera can go through uboats and boats.

I sort of like it when things feel solid and not paper-thin :p
