The Zoo Keepers Modding Team (ZKMT) from Ubi Forums announces this release from the first modding team from Ubi Forums, the Trans-Atlantic Radio Mod under the leadership of team leader dgrayson (Dave Grayson). As team Crash Test Dummy, I am elected to bring this first ever Ubi Forums mod to SUBSIM.
The mod brings two German radio stations to any submarine, including American boats in the Pacific, and is full installable with JSGME. The download may be obtained from Trans-Atlantic Radio Mod (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+Trans+Atlantic+Raio7z/;13575295;/fileinfo.html). Individual radio stations, RRG Radio (Rel_SH4_RRG_Radio_Only (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+RRG+Radio+Only7z/;13637475;/fileinfo.html) size is around 415 meg expanded) and DHB Radio (Rel_SH4_DHB_Radio_Only (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+DHB+Radio+Only7z/;13636630;/fileinfo.html) size is around 350 meg expanded) only contain that station and the Support folder. The official readme and introduction by Dave:
This is a production of the ZKMT (Zoo Keepers Modding Team) of the Ubi Forum
This MOD adds two radio stations to Silent Hunter 4. It will work with any version of the game from 1.0 to 1.5 (U-boat Add On). The MOD consists of two Radio Stations, RRG and DHB Radio. Together, with their Support Directory, they constitute Trans-Atlantic Radio.
RRG is a representation of Radio Berlin. It has authentic German language broadcast clips scheduled to play in the game as the dates are reached. In between broadcasts the radio plays German martial tunes and service songs (Lieds) and some beer drinking music. There are, however, a couple of Easter Eggs in the song list and one of the events. I'm sure one will delight "Das Boot" fans. The station begins events on September 10,1939 and continues to May 1, 1945. It is a world wide station. If you use one of the Setup MODs in the Support Directory it will be heard on Frequency 44.
DHB is a representation of the English language broadcasts from Germany aimed at the Allies. There are clips from the "America First" movement and isolationist's speeches that play up until Pearl Harbor that were rebroadcast from Germany. There are some "Axis Sally", "Lord Haw Haw" shows and "Charlie and His Orchestra". Charlie was a native German musician that played song parodies that mocked the Allies. There is .jpeg of an advertisement for his band in the Support folder. There is also an Easter Egg or two in this station. The station begins events on September 10,1939 and continues to May 1, 1945. It is a world wide station. If you use one of the Setup MODs in the Support Directory it will be heard on Frequency 57.
The MOD is designed to be enabled with JSGME. It will be a simple process.
Download and extract the MOD to your MODS folder.
Open the Support folder and move the Setup MOD of your choice to the MODS folder. Enable the Radio Station MOD, then enable the Setup MOD.
You do not need to be in Port.
The MOD is compatible with all the major Supermods, like TMO and RFB. The enabling order does not matter.
If you have other radio MODS, do not use the Setup MODs. Instead, enable the Station MOD and alter your radio.ini (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Sound\Radio\radio.ini) as follows:
Add to the end of the radio.ini and save.

Christmas comes early! I have been running SH4 with Lurkers outstanding OM V400 since its inception. All that was missing to make the experience that much more realistic was this MOD! I used to have the time to setup this kind of thing for my own personal use but not anymore. A very welcome addition and a must have MOD!
Very well done gentleman! Oh and the Ubi Forum is OK always has been, there are some good people over there! Congratulations!
RR, you rascal you did not say a peep about this one....hmmmmmmmmmm.

Charlie and His Orchestra! Screened for three days linking over 10 hours of twisted and demonic lyrics with times of real world events to determine broadcast times.
Why are the ships always sinking and blinking at sea
What makes the Britons start thinking of their cup of tea
It's out of season the reason explain what it means
German Submarines!
What makes the sailors go crazy wherever they cruise
What makes the market go down what frightens the Jews
What takes the chick off the chicken the pork from the beans
German Submarines!
Listen! Listen!
Can't you hear the sound of never missin'
Torpedoes! Torpedoes!
Hitting at day and hitting at night
Who sinks the trawler the tanker the ships for our fleet
Who sinks destroyers and cruisers the pride of the fleet

If you are referring to DHB Radio and are looking for the "Charlie and His Orchestra" mp3s, you will find them in the Events folder. Just copy them to the Gramophone folder and you will then be able to play them.
In SH4 they play as scheduled events only.

four files uploaded, due to problems in the upload I had to put it in three pieces
GFRS.rar has the structure for JGSME enable
prior to enabling it you must put the contents of GFRS1 and GFRS2 in the GFRS folder:
George Formbry radio station/data/sound/radio/GFRS
a sugested frequency is included in the files (3 rar and one GF instructions.ini)
I hope you enjoy them

one channel? of the Trans-Atlantic??? weird
did you add both frequencies to the radio.ini file.... open it and check that it shows this:
[CHANNEL]
Name=RRG

Freq=105
Antenna=01.01.1930-05.12.1945: 52.50, -13.45:100000

Freq=112

dont mind much the values on Freq=... that depends on what you have installed... but you should have two separate folders named RRG and DHB with a subfolder for events...
good luck

Well, that's not nice. Guess I have some links to repair. Those files Filefront deleted were @#$@$%^ huge. This will take days.....http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa293/RockinRobbins13/smileys/argggggg.gif
Edit: the bits and bytes are crawling slowly through cyberspace to Filefront cybergalaxy. Stand by.....and by......and by.....
Time remaining for Trans-Atlantic Radio only: 4 hours 18 minutes. Then I have two more files that I can't queue at the same time because the total goes over the storage limit.

OOPS! Somehow the link changed when I reposted. Trans-Atlantic Radio (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+Trans+Atlantic+Raio7z/;13575295;/fileinfo.html) is now up and the other two are still down. One of Filefront's deletion cycles passed me by and I missed it. I'll be uploading the other two today (again) and please keep in mind that each of them is just one of the two radio stations of Trans-Atlantic Radio (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+Trans+Atlantic+Raio7z/;13575295;/fileinfo.html) and contain no unique material.
UPDATE: DHB Radio Only (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+DHB+Radio+Only7z/;13636630;/fileinfo.html) is now restored!
UPDATED UPDATE! RRG Radio Only (http://files.filefront.com/Rel+SH4+RRG+Radio+Only7z/;13637475;/fileinfo.html) is back online too. All links active. Please PM me if that ever changes.
Enjoy again!

I finally got around to downloading and putting this into my my game. Fantastic work. I liked hearing the "Germany Calling" programs. My Dad has told me all about that kind of stuff (he was 9 and living in Croydon when the war broke out). He said hearing that stuff again gave him chills.
My one 'criticism' with it is that some of the music is post war, Edith Piaf's Milord was 1959 for example. They do sound like 40's songs however so it is easily forgotten.
Thank you!

Lotsa people use yellow. I use the SmartDark screen and your use of gray makes it look like you're whispering. I actually like it.

I also use the SmartDark. It just looks so good. I was using the gray so that it would look like I was wispering a secret. Over at the Paradox forums, they hava a color that ends up just making a slight blur on the screen and you have to highlight it to read anything. I was just wondering if this one had something like that I hadn't found yet.

I downloaded this mod awhile ago, but just started using it a couple of days ago. I LOVE IT! Of course the radio is one of the great improvements for SH4 over SH3, and I like the way it stops working when you're submerged. These two stations have some great music and a nice period feel. I also like the ocassional signal-wander sounds that come through.
Uau! 227 MB, request 45 mtos to me to unload, good patience!. Certainly I am going to enjoy much this radio, Thank you very much :):zzz:

Ok so how exactlly do i install the mod?? I download both RRG and DHB. However when i installed RRG via JSGME nothing happens when i bring out the radio in game? Can i get a step by step or a picture of somebodies JSGME installation screen to see what exactlly is installed?? I running Operation Monson if that makes any difference...

Same question here !
At work can't post JSGME active mod list.
I load the main folder with all the news and stuff.
Then add just one of the setups.
I usually choose BBC and German Radio.
This may be of no help, I apologize. Maybe RR is around to post.
RR, yoooohoooooo.

Make sure whichever mod you load in last is the one that incorporates these changes. That way it'll include all three radio stations.
On one of my last war patrols (I think it was in July of 1940) I was doing a night surface attack against a French freighter, while listening to some rather saucy sounding French song on DHB. I couldn't help but laugh.

It also has several German, French, American, Japanese, and English (BBC) radio stations. There are 57 music files, all activated by jgsme. It works with OM and OMEGU on my computer.

This mod comes with the setup for both the all german radio station (RRG) and the english propaganda station (DHB) plus the setup for both as well as the BBC mod. I can't get either of them (RRG, DHB) to work however.
I have followed the read only instructions and am looking for some advice from anyone who has gotten them to work with OM. I know it's probably something simple that Im not seeing.
Would it be possible for this mod to be uploaded to another site , because i cannot download it from gamefront (they are blocking half of the world ), tried it with a proxy but the archive is always corrupted.
Thank you.
Ps:Its a pity that wonderful mods like this get lost.
