I'm having a CTD problem- I can't figure out what's going on.

I came back from my patrol in a Type VIIB in Jan 1940, and started enabling some new mods. Now I'm getting CTDs right before the "not so long ago" when i try to start from Kiel. The date doesn't matter, the uboat type doesn't matter- it crashes every time.

Mod list:

The new mods are Thomsen's sound pack (but only the sounds, i deleted the extra stuff that chanegd the menu), Q ship mod, Increased ASW, Community Units, Warspite, and a new version of lifeboats and debris. Out of these, it's definately not the q ship mod, because i disabled it and tried.

These are my suspects:
1. Increased ASW and longer repair times (I just enabled them on top of eachother, they have different values for blast radius and stuff. But that doesn't explain why it worked from 1941 on.
2. Community Units and Warspite. With these you have to manually enter things. I might have done something wrong. Maybe the campaign is trying to find a ship, and not finding it? I went into the scripted campaign file and changed all of the warspite (warspite, queen elizabeth, barham) ships to BBwarspite instead of using revenge and nelson as substitutes. Most of these changes were in the 1939-1940 timeframe. I think something might be wrong with that. But I've gone into the museum and can see the warspite just fine. All the extra community ships show up as well, even saw one in the 1941 campaign.

And of course, it might have been there before the new mods, since i can't remember the last time i tried to start from there.

any ideas?

thanks, but those don't help.

So far, the only time i got CTD's was when i went outside the command room with shift-F2. But now I apparently can't start a campaign from Kiel. It's only that port, as far as i can tell. Do any of those mods mess with the scripted units/land/buildings around there. Maybe the kiel canal mod, but that was working for me earlier.

never mind. I figured it out. it was the kiel canal mod, needed to change the locations file. thanks for the help

About Warspite, 2 steps for exclude her (or find the problem XD):
1\try to create a single mission, if she work fine, ok; if not, report, please ^_^
2\if you've modded the scripted campaign, as you say, this can be the problem. Do you have a backup copy? if yes, just use it and try :yep:

hey- thanks for the help. I figured it out though.

it had nothing to do with the warspite. fantastic work on that. One of the most needed new ships.

To modfiy the scripted campaign files, I just went through it with notepad searching for each of the Queen Elizabeth class battleships- QE, Warspite, Valiant, Barham, Malaya, and replaced the stand-in Revenge and Nelson classes with BBWarspite. Worked like a charm. I've allready seen one in the campaign, just as planned. And single missions and museum works fine.

Use this instead of 26 April minor bug fix mod and Schluese mods

All together in one mod all ok
