:hmm: well, first of all your graphic card sucks to be frank, no offense, but I know this because I have one exactly like yours, the worst card I've ever had :damn:

I don't experience quite the same problems as you though. I downloaded the ATI Catalyst Control Center and that improved it a little. The flickering is normal, but regarding the radar and dials not workng issue....have you tried to uninstall the game, then reinstall it, patch it up with the 1.4 patch and install the LWAMI mod, to me that sounds like something has messed up the game files. I've tried mixing the mods too much together because I was too lazy to uninstall and then I had similar problems, uninstalling the game helped. I'm running win XP though.

Sorry to be of such little help.......

Damn I hate ATI  :damn:

Most probably processor issue. DW does not like dual cores. Use this tool for binding DW to first core:

http://www.activeplus.com/us/freeware/runfirst/

Or you could even use task manager for that. Right click on the process and choose 'Set Affinity' and then choose only one core.

AFAIK ATI is better for DW since it has dithering in 16 bit mode and DW only runs in 16 bit mode. I use nVidia for years so I don't know which ATI cards exactly have it, but some guys with ATI posted screenshots here and they looked 10 times better then what recent nVidias can do.

The graphics card has nothing to do with this issue.
DW has a 10 year old graphics engine, with the 2600pro it should literaly fly.
I think the real problem is vista and the aero interface. You should disable aero before playing dw, not all games are aero-aware and that could cause display problems.

This was true up until the last generation of dx 9 cards.
All dx 10 ati cards suffer the same fate as nvidia ones, they don't have anymore the hardware for dithering so 16 bit games are rendered very very badly.
There is a thread in the rage3d forums where people can intervene asking the driver team to implement a 16-32 bit texture translation on the fly so that 16 bit games are rendered with 32 bit textures.
Its the only way to have a nice rendered 16 bit game with dx 10 class hardware.
The more people ask for this, the greater the probability that it will be implemented in the drivers.

its still not working right i have patched it to 104 installed lwami mod and set the affiniti and nothing is working the screen flickers and it wont go to the screen or anything unless i hit the windows button next to the ctrl button on the left and then it still doesnt work right like when you try and select a mission its supposed to show you the platform it wont display it and in the game the numbers wont move when you try and select a depth or course the radar raises but nothing moves on the display i thought this game was compatible with vista 32 bit which is what i have

Have you tried looking at this forum : http://www.sonalystscombatsims.com/phpBB/index.php for help in regard to technical problems? After all its the support forum from the game developer...

Have you checked to make sure that you haven't forced Dangerous Waters into Anti-Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering via your graphics card control panel?

Certainly on my system this leads to severe flickering.

Correct, this game in not at all compatibile with filters  , disable absolutely any kind of antialiasing and anisotropic/bilinear/trilinear filtering.
Also disable any kind of background invasive processes such as antivirus etc... They tend to make the game flicker continuosly.
As a last resort try playing in windowed mode.
For this to work first set your desktop background at 16 bits and then set windowed mode from within the game settings in dw.

it was the antiaisng and the monitor was at 64 bit instead of 32 so i changed it and its working fine no problems
