1 - here is a copy of the campaign rnd file that affects weather changes from my gwx folder

ive noticed that no matter when i patrol im always gettin clear weather. the above file setting suggest why, for eg the precip=0! i read a few post from people who have stopped using the SH3 weather mod cos the gwx weather settings are better. do most people just use gwx stock weather or do they still use the SH3 weather mod?

2 - how do i make it that i get more convoy reports from further away like in das boat where they get a long range report but realise that its to far away to intercept?

I use the default GWX 2.1 weather values. Have not used SH3 Weather for a long time.

To edit the distance at which you receive convoy/contact reports, open the contacts.cfg file in notepad and edit the range value. I can't remember the exact entries, so if you want to copy & paste the cfg here (it's only small), I'll help.

Thanks Jim.

While those are from the Spy Sat mod, the 2 lines quoted are the important ones to change. Just double the figures on an unaltered version of the contacts.cfg. The current 999999 km values will allow global reports.

whats the difference between the opportunity and important contact settings?

so u honestly dont think that the settings i listed above affect how the weather works? or maybe there's somethin wrong with my install.
