Just drop them into the main directory ( where the SH3exe is).

Hope that works ok!

Hi,

With the reso fix, you should have a file called "d3d9.cfg" ( in your SH3 main directory) ; Open it with notepad and search the lines :

resX=XXXX
resY=XXXX

Replace the XXXX with the resolution you want, and that's it. Should work.

Thanks for the speedy correction, Marko:up:

Had the weird idea that 1024x800 was standard res for the d3d9.cfg file :oops:

As you seem to know a fair bit about this mod, maybe you could advise me how you task switch out. Before applying it , I could use Ctrl+Esc....now I can't get out with that, or Alt+Tab. Even Ctrl,Esc + Del throws a fit when I try it!!!

Well, i must say that i don't use Alt-tab very offen, so i'm not sure at all about that but :

I remember many users had problems with task switching after using the resfix .. :cry:

So i don't know if it's possible to use a workaround ..

Maybe this works only when in interface and not in 3d game .. or something.

I'm sorry, this doesn't help a lot :oops: and i admit this make some time now that i didn't travelled into the seas with SH3 ( maybe the "summer effect" ..), so, nothing 100% sure about those troubles.

U can use cntrl-alt-del and and switch in the taskmanager to a previously launched task or if u have a 2ndairy monitor click there and sh3 minimizes.

I recall reading ages ago that the side effects of the res fix were inability to alt-tab out of SHIII and the disabling of the screenshot key.

Tks for the comments Guys

However, I'm still confused about Resfix in general and Sartori's implementation in particular. This is the one that has Kegety's original files plus two dos batch files and SHIII.dsb.

Supposedly the batch files enable the user to disable and re-enable the resfix at the touch of a button. Well they don't for me! And what the devil is the .dsb file for?

Not really a matter of life or death. As Marko says, the need to tab out doesn't often arise. I only want to do this when modding (meddling in my case!) and to avoid it disabling one of SHIII nicer little error reporting features. This is where you have a mismatch or something in Menu_1024_768.ini file. SH3 throws you back to desktop where you'll find a box listing the ID's the program can't find! As I get locked in (and no,nirwana, I can't get back to Task manager with ctrl+alt+del) this won't work.:damn:

Suppose it's easy enough to move the two Kegety files outside the main directory when modding or accessing the Mission editor. It's just that I'd like to get Sartori's mod to work as it was originally intended.... if humanly possible. :D
