Career Problem

Some have wanted a career for the Iowa. I have written a campaign before so It's not all new, but I have a lot to learn.
The problem with the Iowa, the career starts ok, pick the Iowa and it goes through all the way to assign a mission and then ask if I want to start in base or outside. Whan I click start it CTDs. Any ideas why it CTDs at this point? It has already assigned a mission and all the crew and weapon screens are there so I am assuming it may be a problem with the ship. The ship works fine in Single Mission.

Any ideas for what I am missing?

Edit: I have gone through the ship and guns and remaped the IDs again in case I made a mistake there.

I tried the Japanese ships in the Japanese Campaign I have started, the Sen Toku II works fine, the Japanese ships will not go in. Same probelm, It gets all the way to the "Start inside or outside port" and CTD.

Any suggestions at all?

Unit availability dates versus mission date can badly affect things. The same goes for unit upgrades, e.g. weapons systems that become mandatory that don't work as expected.
