I've seen a post or 2 asking about this. Answer was na, can't be done. Don't know why, seems easy enough with the knowledge and tools found on this board.
Well here's a shot of my new Porpoise, the USS Jolly Roger.

Using [TEC] info provided in 2 threads and Silent 3ditor (v0.9.0) it was not hard at all. First thread shows how to reuse nodes. The second is about adding flags. These guys provided very clear information IMO. Refer to these posts if you get lost.

In the flag making thread all you need is flag.dat trimmed down to 1 flag with a new image imported. No need for all those folders and files for what we are doing. After making your flag.dat remember to change the ids.

I am using a late war tower on my sub and changed Conning_P_03.dat, that is the file shown in S3D.
Import your flag data and nest the Node with all the others. Leave your .tga where it sits, yellow arrow.

The node positioning shown works great on my tower, you'll have to play around with them if your using a different tower.
No, the flag does not rotate with the wind or sub direction, sorry. The red arrow points to the block that controls flag rotation.
