I tried to instal RFB 1.32. I did it just like they say in step by step mod installation

When i try to start the SH4 game the red line goes to middle and stops.I open the desktop and there is an icon and it keeps telling me over and over again these errors:

Menu ID not found: 0x18000006!
Menu ID not found: 0x611001f!
Menu ID not found:0x...
Menu ID not found:0x...
Menu ID not found:0x ...
Bla bla...
etc... etc..

what's wrong? i have the 1.4 patch BTW

Pozine,

I had the same problem a while back after I installed 1.4. I thought it was more Windows Vista B.S. It usually happened when I got the Please Wait screen. All I did was hit the Windows key taking me to desktop and closed all the little message boxes. There were a number of them. When they all closed, I clicked on the box to open SH4 back up and the game loaded as normal.

After I installed a few mods, the problem seemed to go away and I haven't seen it since. I'd look at the order mods were installed if you are running any. Usually the threads for the mods give the order in which they should be installed if using multiple mods. I realy don't know what caused it or what fixed it. Hope this helps.

These messages speak about problems in ..\Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini file ...
The specified identifiers are absent or are duplicated ...
You should compare these files from game and from mod ...

P.S.
Similar messages appear and at other mistakes in a file ... for ex. if in page [G26 ...] to place section [G2B I...] ... etc.

Spasibo, Anvart!

Now we know the missing piece of the puzzle. That is why my problem went away with the installation of a new mod - the missing menu ID's from the menu_1024_768.ini file were filled in when the mod overwrote the problem menu_1024_768 file.

Pozine, given this, I would certainly follow Anvart's advice about comparing these files to see which mod changed your menu_1024_768 file and caused the problem.

A handy tool to do that and one I think is a must have is the JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME). See link to website below:

http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html

JScones's great little mod is easy to use and will generate a change log to document changes to your original files. I usually just do the trial and error - run the base game check for problems, add a mod, run game, check for problems, and so on.

Let us know how this works for you, Pozine.
