I'm pretty sure that this bug exists in the stock game but the screenshot below is from TMO+RSRD+OM+PE3 (I have removed the camera.dat file from the PE1 install and the PE6 TMO patch to fix an issue with the camera being positiond behind some valves in any uboat with or without OM...so the camera.dat being used here would either be from TMO or RSRD (if it does anything to the camera.

As you can see the light in the radio room is visible through the control room bulkehead..
Now when I press SHIFT+F2...it goes away...

Now, does anyone know what the difference is between the 2 camera's or even a starting point as I'd like to work the bug out, I do have some mod experience (with FSX) and a degree in software engineering, but I have no idea where to begin looking, any help would be appreciated. I did post this is the PE4 WIP thread, but no one seems to have any idea. Again any help will be greatly appreciated and if i can work the problem out, you can be sure of all the credit your due.

Judgeing from the pictures posted.
One seems to have a greater zoom.
They both appear (to me) tilted.
And I'm not sure about that guy eyeballing me!!

I think it's a stock bug
You get the sun shining through the men on deck and maingun etc
Also in heavy weather when in fog and bows kicking up spray you can see ships through the spray
Guess it's down to the transparencies or layering they use in the files (can't rem offhand but ones like HUD etc)
Not a fix for it that i've come across though
Hmm well if you lose that effect when you press shift + F2 maybe it is fixable ?

Does the problem change with angle or position? In other words, if you move the free move camera up to the position of the first screenshot, does the problem reappear?
Without knowing exactly which cameras.dat file you are using (or having the same file available), it is impossible to say what parameters might be different between the two camera views. If you have S3D, you could open the cameras.dat file up, find the two cameras and compare.

Once I'm in the free cam the problem goes away, I'm gonna take a look at the camera.dat files in S3D to see if I can find the difference.
The Submarine is a german IXC/40 found with OM.
PROBLEM SOLVED!!
What I did was edit the clipping distance on the TMO ENABLE UBOAT Camera.dat file for the interor fore camera from 0.01 to just 0.1 and I also changed the angularangle from 65.0 to 75.0 and the problem was GONE!!! I'm gonna do some further testing to see if i caused another monster but so far so good.

I've completed almost all of what I had remaining on Operation monson (just refueled from the MV brake tanker FYI) and haven't experienced any unwanted side-effects. Keep your fingers crossed!!

What I did was edit the clipping distance good find
...and if you edit the clipping distance for the binoc from 3.0 to 1.0, you get no longer the 360° clear view ( deck structures or crew blocked your view ...just for the realistic lovers ;) ) If I remeber right, the stock 1.0 game has this also.
