I'm running GWX 2.1 and SH3 Commander.

I want to have a go at changing the Radio Room interior, so went into my SH3 data folder to find "druck_radio_7.tga" I can't find it anywhere. It's not in any of the Tex folders. There are no "druck_radio" files in the Random folders in SH3 Commander. It seems not to be there, although the Radio Room appears perfect;y normal in game.

Help please.

It is embedded inside one of the dats, you should have a copy somewhere, I think it is in stock, there are a few mods for this about, just do a search, if you cant find just give me a list & I will pack them up & upload.:yep:

Thank you, Reece.

I've finally found them. I tried a simple change - extracting the .TGA from the .DAT file using SH3 Unpacker, but when I came to re-pack the .TGA into the .DAT I received an error mesage which saisd that there was an error in the "string-length" and that the program couldn't proceed.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I was simply replacing the RAdio Room Poster with another, using PaintDotNet. The file I was inserting was a .jpg, but the whole thing saved successfully as a .TGA

Hi Manteuffel
This is how I would do it, may help.

First copy/paste elsewhere the DAT file and work on that one.

TEST RUN
Note TGA position in DAT file.
Extract TGA and delete the TGA in DAT file. Re-pack the TGA in DAT file again.
Now I've proven that works with the "old TGA".

NEW TGA TROUBLE
If I was getting errors with new TGA I now know the "new TGA" is the problem.

One way of having correct TGA is with copy/paste
Note "old TGA" byte size.
Copy the "new TGA" and paste into the "old TGA" you extracted.
The "new TGA" should now have the "old TGA" settings.
re-Check byte size.
Re-pack.

That has usually worked for me.
Try that for now

p.s. I usually use "Gimp v2" to do this.

Try Pack3D version 2.

Try Pack3D version 2. Yes I found that version works well, also make sure you have highlighted the tga texture node in Pack3D before you Import!:yep: otherwise just put the new tga into the data\Textures\TNormal\tex folder, this will override the internal dat one!:D
