WOW,

Perry, unknown location and country, going through some pretty severe upgrades to radar, masts and weapons with the replacement of the outgoing sm-1 i assume. Couple of things I noticed, no 76mm, and forward mount CIWS.

Does anybody know anything about upgrades to the weapons systems on the Perry's? The only one's i've heard of is a 8 cell VLS SAM being added to RAN FFG's, and even that was rare as the ships are too old and cost way too much!

Any info appreciated.

Your the victim of a hoax, thats a photoshopped image I'm afraid. :know: The FFG pictured is the USS Rodney M. David FFG 60, and she has none of those "upgrades".

Yeah, I see they also missed a spot at the waterline near the stern.

[edit]Hmm, I just looked closer. She actually got 'stern extension' done to her. :D Compare the 2 images.

It carries the markings of an Italian Maestrale class frigate, but it seems...modified. This picture shows F-575 with an excessive amount of DARDO CIWS guns (they are supposed to carry only two, I think), among other things.

However, the picture is kind of "jumbled." Can anyone tell if there is another ship behind it? Mabye I'm seeing things.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the Italian navy could answer...

It looks like there is a lot of cutting and pasting going on in that pic. It's even worse than that Iranian missile shoot photo.
