How about learning better evasive maneuvers?

What tactics are you employing?

Dive to 100 ft dump 2 decoys then change directio, dive to red line max safe depth, final step is silent running..

I don't know what ship your running but you will have to get deeper than 100 ft (if your not in shallow water). Get underneath the thermal layer, go silent running, try to change up your course and most importantly go slow. About 2-3 knots. I never use the decoys but if you do, don't use them until your sure they have detected you.

Exactly, if your sitting at a hundered feet, you might as well run on the surface at flank. Keep diving until you either hit the thermal layer or are so far below crush depth that you know your about to, well be crushed.

I personally have taken a Balao to 560, crush being at 400, to escape depth charges. The decoys aren't very effective. It was always my understanding that they mainly made a lot of noise to misdirect homing torpedos, like those used by the Germans, which ran with a passive sonar till they detected noise then switched to an active sonar to "ping" there target. The game says they can be used to deflect enemy sonar, so If you can't hear that ominous ping hitting your haul (and at 100 feet it'll be LOUD and CLEAR :rotfl:) dont fire the decoys.

Overall, run deep, keep quiet.

if he is in an "s" boat then he has a crush depth of only 61 meters or 183 feet

Decoys did not come to very late war and not distributed too much. This function has been clipped in RFB. Dive deep below the thermals, silent running, change course. Keep em guessing.

Well, that isn't necessarily the right thing to do. If they have you localized you're going to have to evade for a while. You need to know what kind of pattern the destroyers are running on you and maneuver accordingly.

You need to especially pay attention when one of them is making a run. You need to use the hydrophones and know what angle he's coming in from so you can evade.

Avoiding depth charges isn't just a matter of going deep and quiet. That only works if they don't have any idea of where you attacked from.

Thats the reason I said "I don't what boat your running". Be that as it may, you still better get deeper than 100ft, S-Boat or not.

BTW, I just survived a 230 ft dive in a S-Boat to get away from some ugly DD's near Rabul. Broke a few light bulbs and took a little bit of hull damage but I'm still alive and one of the DD's is damaged and one is on the bottom.:arrgh!:
