Weird that no one have fixed it. When the airplane is comming towards you and passes you the pitch level of the sound should go down, normaly. But in SH3 it has always been the other way, the wrong way. :) Hoped they would fix it with the new GWX 2.1 but no. :) Anything i could do or is it not possible to fix. Its almost like the sun went up in the West insted of East. :) Please help.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't recall ever having that problem, and I listen for things like that.
Have to check again, but after three years I should have noticed it.:-?

Please do check. I cant be that wrong. :) Everytime i leave Lorient i have a couple of 109's buzzing over me, and when they pass me their sound pitch level go up. Thats wrong, they should go down. Like when a car pass you, WRROoomm. :)
The pitch should increace as the sound source comes towards you and decreace as it goes away. This happens in SH3 correctly.

I saw a thread a while back on UBI where several people had the same experience, but there was no more talk about it. So it boiled away. :) But i get remainded everytime i hear an airplane, its just not right. In my SH3 anyway. But i know im not the only one. :)

Actually, you are incorrect sir. In stock SH3 the doppler effect is reversed from what it should be. GWX does not correct this.
(It was on the 'to be examined' list during GWX development... we just never got round to it as other matters were screaming at us more loudly.)
If you have a separate stock SH3 version 1.4b installation, you can verify the above in the museum.

For GWX 2.1?
Honestly, I don't know. Having worked so hard for so long, the team is basically on shore leave for now and the focus has shifted to the SH4 platform and GWX4. We all need the break.
What I will do though, is ensure that it is on the list of things to look at for the next major build. I don't like that problem either, and at the moment I cannot recall if it was a quirk that was carried over to SH4.

At first look?
It appears to be a hard coded issue.
I took one unit and gave it a negative value for doppler effect in the SH3.sdl
No change on the effect.
It ignores a negative value and looks at it as a normal setting.

Negative values work just fine in SH4.

Isnt it more then one place in that file where you can change the doppler effect ?

You have a Min Radius and a Max Radius setting.
You could try adjusting those.
But I doubt it would change the way the sound in SH3 behaves.
Then again?
I could be wrong.
