CTD ??? what the heck is CTD ???

More times than I can recall I have seen this term "CTD" used,, I am guessing the "C" is for crash,, but what does the rest mean?

When I first got here, I thought it was a reference to some U-Boat illness.

When somebody said "I've had a CTD!" My brain kept telling me "Crabular Testicle Disease"

At some point you'll experience one; it often happens at the worst times (ie. during a really successful patrol) & quite often you will find that your career is completely buggered up as it was corrupted by something.:damn: The save game system is one of the worst things about SH III.

Surely it's

Cry ( What you do when you have a perfect solution on a BB - then the screen goes blank. - Usually only happens when you haven't saved since the start of your patrol; and you're 43 days out with a shedful of tonnage to your credit. ) :cry:

Tantrum ( What you have after that moment of stunned disbelief and period of weeping after the screen goes blank - usually involves lots of very colourful and loud language and even jumping up and down on the spot, or rolling around on the floor kicking and screaming.) :damn:

Depression ( The emotion which follows the tantrum - usually accompanied by weary resignation as you reboot; and a conviction that your computer really is out to get you; often flavoured by nostalgia for the simple joys of Pacman. ) :huh:

From my experience CTD is:

- When it's too time you've not saved, and you start to say bad words :x -> :damn: ;

- When you're loading a crucial savegame, and you start to say bad words :p -> :damn: ;

- When in a moment you're finding a giant convoy with a large number of BB and CV :arrgh!: , and in the next moment you start to say very bad words :o -> :stare: -> :damn: ;

- When you're testing your last mod and you start to say very bad words :hmm: -> :damn: ;

- Basically, is when you're playing SH3 and you start to say bad words :cry: -> :damn: (with exceptions like unlucky shoots and DD attacks )

Very true. It's a common enough occurrence for me right when I'm excited about testing a new ship. :rotfl:

Just be thankful your not developing and testing improvements to the sim :lol:
