My self and randell flag played this evening a MP 1v1 STROG mission made my scion now randell used the ohio i used the akula.

I detected the ohio 7.2nm bearing 262 from me so i fired a trio of SS-N-27 and one hit the ohio but only caused 31% damage does this mean i have to hit himn with 4 asrocs before i get a kill?

Anyhoo i ended up getting killed i made a fatal mistake leaving torpedo evasion to the last moment (silly me) so it was a kill for randel and a scowl from moscow for me.

Can anyone shed light onto the ohio strength thing please?

I would expect that possibly from a Typhoon. Did the charge detonate on a Counter measure that was close to the boat? or was it it a direct hit?

Unless the illegal mod you're playing with hacked the program in a way that allows variable damage, then a given weapon will always cause the same amount of damage, and a platform will always be able to take the same amount of damage.

Only the SCX mods with clives ohio, im not 100% sure if he did let off a CM im guessing he did so this maybe the result.

I detected him at a range of 6 miles speed 4 knots i was quite surprised to detect him to be truthful i thought the odds were slim and also that he would have me long before i had him.

I guess i got lucky.

Oh, so now you mention this is SCX you're talking about in a DW thread.

SCX has some damage variability, at least with UTK detonations on surface ships (probably a result of proximity variations). I don't think that applies when a sub is the target. But, older mods like SCX and the NWP (fleet command) went pretty overboard with nerfing LWTs. So yeah, multiple hits against larger subs are usually--if not always--required.
