Still experimenting around with getting my install back up to speed after laying off SH3 for a long while. Running GWX 2.1 and OLCE2 (but not the OLC GUI) - with the rez fix and the following mods activated via JSGME (see list at end of post).
I came across two problems - unfortunately, I forgot that the rez fix changes the way screenshots get taken, so my attempt to get screenshots failed :(
Anyway, the first problem was the small freighter I spotted at about 15,000 m (clear skies, wind 0m/s, unlimited visibility) was floating above the horizon - I could understand some slight effect like that, sort of mirage shimmering or something, but this seemed pretty extreme. Is this normal with this mod combo or is something weird going on here?
Second, when I got closer I started setting up a practice surface firing approach with the UZO (it was 9/1/1939, so the British ship was still neutral). However, while the ship was very clearly a small freighter ("kleine frachter"), using the stadimeter/rangefinder in the UZO always generated a range about twice as far away than the watch officer was reporting - errors of several thousand yards at medium ranges and over 1,000m at about 1,200m - is this normal or is this as odd as it seems to me?
Any ideas on what's causing these things or whether they can be fixed by rejiggering my mods or something?
