Hey guys,

As you can see in this shot, I'm missing some of vertical and horizontal lines that should be present in my German periscope view. Strangely enough, these lines show up just fine in the UZO view. What do I need to do to get them back?

Hi Luke, I suppose you use a customized cameras.dat ?
These lines are "hard coded" and always have the same scale no matter the camera settings. With the stock cameras.dat you see about 12 marks on both lines, if you "widen" the FOV value you will see more and more marks, but if you narrow down the FOV you will see less and less marks, it seems to be the case here. You have the 2 "10" marks but the lines are "off the lens".
What do I need to change in Cameras.dat to get the correct values back? I dropped the angular angle all the way down to 8, but that didn't do any good, for either periscope.

That's the good value, but it works the opposite way. The smaller the value, the less scope marks are visible (like the middle ring on the picture). If you widen it you'll have more marks visible (and it will sortof "zoom out" at the same time).
Got it! Can you tell me what the stock value is? I have it set to 96 right now, but I don't know if that's stock or not.

Also need to know the default value for the UZO and binoculars, too, if you don't mind.

Luke,

Take a look at this thread in the SH3 forum: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=138159

The settings I find best and most historically accurate are:

1,5x and 6x zoom, and 35,79 angular view. You will lose the graded scales, but the scope will perform best and they can be added back via tga/dds editing.
