I enjoy hearing the sub interior sounds, the rumble of the engines, etc...

The only problem I have is.. if I turn my speakers up enough to hear the ambient sound, someone will PING !! The sound of the PING almost blows my speakers, makes all the local dogs bark, and makes my wife pissed at me. :D

I've experimented with the in game volume controls and I havn't found anything that separately handles the ambient sounds and the sound effects.

Is there any way to quiet the super close pings and increase the volume of the ambient background sounds ?

Or open the dangerouswaters.ini file and find ".MaxPingVolume 70" to tweak as desired. ;)

Aside from that there is also a mod on the www.subguru.com site that has modified audiofiles specifically to tonedown interface sounds while improving sonar noise levels. I can't remember the name though.
