well, I was playing around in the museum, looking at all the cool stuff in GWX 2.1, and I got to the German U-Boats, and something happened that honestly made laugh. The IIB, and one of the VIIC's blow up and sink when you view them.:rotfl::rotfl: I got a kick out of that, and I kept going back to watch them blow up and skin several times. But I have to ask abou this, was this an easter egg, or did something break?:rotfl::rotfl:

HELL ! I think you "broke" the easter EGG.:rotfl:
Really, I gotta go check this out.:D
It's bad enough haveing the Allies sink me.:arrgh!: :p
I must have a "defective" copy of GWX :D because I've never seen that happen.

Your IIB should be running on the surface.
Same with one of the VIIC's.
If not?
Guess what?
You have a defective install of 2.1
What other mods have you got installed?
Mods that change the .Val files cause that.
Mods like Waterstream or Exhaust smoke!
Everything that changes the default GWX .val files makes the Sub sink in Museum.

Very good guess.
But wrong.
:nope:
It's the sim files that determine this.
:yep:
The val only handles damage textures and wake kind of stuff.

Thanx! I was close!
I tested it way back, since i saw the first sub sink in the Museum!
And the thing they all had in common was the .val dats...among others:88)
Cheers and thanx for the info!

I didn't see a sinking sub, but I did see the two VIIC subs in the museum, but both were submerged and one was doing this:

The second VIIC was fine, skinned and with the eagle conning tower from nautilus. I do have Rubini's water stream mod enabled. Here's a list of my enabled mods:

Any ideas what could be causing this?

As an update, turning off rubini's water stream mod made the first VIIC appear on the surface in museum, but it was sinking, bits of cargo being left in the water.

Not sure, but I did notice that you have GWX Enhanced Damage Effects enabled with OLCE2. I think OLCE2 comes with it's own version of the Enhanced Damage Effects which should be enabled instead of the GWX version when using OLCE2.
Nemo
Captain Nemo is right. According to the OLCE 2 readme you should use either OLCE 2 - GWX 2.1 Enhanced Damage Effects or OLCE 2 - GWX 2.1 Normal Damage Effects & disable the "stock" GWX 2.1 Enhanced Damage effects.

Yes, I'm seeing this in the OLC readme:OLCE2 Adjusted GWX 2.1 Normal/Enhanced Damage Effects
These mods adjust the appearance of the GWX 2.1 particle effects to suit the OLCE2 environment. If you don't enable one of these two mods then your particle effects will “glow in the dark” in OLCE2.
If you normally use GWX – Enhanced Damage Effects then you should disable it and enable OLCE2 Adjusted GWX 2.1 Enhanced Damage Effects instead, otherwise you should enable OLCE2 Adjusted GWX 2.1 Normal Damage Effects.
I shall make the necessary changes and see how that goes. A bit of an oversight on my part.
EDIT: After making this change, it had no affect on the problem. So I've ruled that out as the culprit.
