I have a Japanese sub almost ready to go and was looking at adding Japanese port and a small (to start with-I'm new to modding) campaign to use this sub. But there are a few things I can't find. I know the flotilla.upc gives a base to go to if your's is disbanded, but these things I can't find.
1. what files determine when and where you are offered a transfer to another base?
2.what files determine when and which boat you are offered when offered a new sub?
3 where are the files for the 'office'?
Any help appreciated, I have a flotilla set up and working, but there's a lot more to learn. One step at a time, I guess that's the only way.
BTW, before anyone gets too excited, I built the sub on a Gato so it won't work in the German Campaigns. I didn't know things were going to head in that direction, I was just trying to learn some modding and some people were asking for a Japanese Campaign, so I thought I would try it out. Learned a lot in the process.

i cant help you but PM " lurker_hlb3 " he did a lot of campaign stuff for RSRDC and knows a lot about all that stuff.
with you being new to modding, you are starting with a tough mod job. ports and campaign stuff is not easy and involves a lot of files to go through, good luck with a tough mod.

What do you mean by "the gato can not work in the german campaign"?
I thought every sub class could potentially be used on both sides, if properly enabled.
However your idea for a japanese campaign is fantastic. No we will have something for the yamato mod as well!!
Good luck for your work!

I can make it Japanese but I don't know how yet (or even if it will work) to put German subs in Allied campaign or Allied subs in the German campaign. Which is why I made the comment, because the Yamato is built on a German sub and the Sen Toku is built on an American Gato. I'm just a beginner at this, so there is a whole lot I don't know!! But, doing it helps me learn, and gives me GREAT RESPECT for the modders. I see first hand the amount of work that goes into a great mod.
If it will work, I will have to figure it out or if someone has an answer, I'm all ears.

I thought that the nationality was hard coded ?
Otherwise my Jyunsen could be japanese...

Sen Toku II is Japanese in Allied Campaign. The problem with mine is I have to have a Japanese base, I can't use a German base like you can. And Pearl Harbor isn't a good place to be either.:rotfl:. So, I had to make a flotilla in Rabaul in 1942 to test with.
I changed the deck guns to the standard, I had the JP triple and it wasn't worth crap. It turned too slow, couldn't hit the planes and did very little damage to ships, so really wasn't worth the effort to add it to the game. Works in single missions ok, but in campaign mode I would have to change a bunch of data, when they get damaged they disappear. In the Gato .upc there really isn't any slot assigned for them even though they are in the dat file.
I am working on the upc and unitparts now. A bit compicated because the Gato had four towers and I am only using one but need the updates from the others. And trying to figure how to use both M01 and M02 at the same time. (Deck gun slots)
Did you ever get your gun figured out with all the links in UnitParts?

The stand alone version of my Jyunsen B submarine is done. It doesn't mean the work on the submarine is over but it is playable ;)
mod on my Filefront page.
When you get your Sen Toku II stand alone please make the unit part number 4 because I used number 3 (UnitParts3Jyunsen_B), also you can use any of my files especially the career and flotilla files so that both subs might be implemented in game together.

Just downloaded, I'll give it a try. But my boat isn't going to work, it is not German.
As for the 'stand alone', you must have missed one of my posts, I made min 'stand alone' before I even started modding it. I didn't know whether to make it 3 because there are 2 Jap subs or 8 because there are 7 UnitParts files, but it seems to work either way.
Do you know where in the files you get the default starting guns? I don't have the ones I want, if I do a career I can change them but I don't know how it picks the ones you start with.
The other question I have seen but can't find, how can I make both Deck Guns work at the same time?
I'll go give your ship a run.
