Welcome aboard Merchant Raider http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

GWX2.1 comes with JSGME already. Double click on the JSGME icon and it will create a folder entitled MODS (if it isn't already included).

When you d/l a mod it will already be zipped/packed up.

Unzip/unpack the mod into the MODS folder then open JSGME and enable it with the arrow pointing left to right.

GWX2.1 already has mods included.....make a start by enabling them via JSGME.

Good Luck http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif

It may lag or freeze momentarily in high TC (time compression) if you're close to a large convoy, aircraft or land. It happens to me sometimes when I'm at 1024 so I drop the tc to 1 & have a look around to see if anything is near me. Remember that your watch crew won't spot every single contact or threat. If there doesn't seem to be anything nearby, increase the time in increments (ie. 32, 64, 128, etc.) The "problem" should sort itself shortly & you can return to high tc. Maybe someone else has another idea but this is the only solution or workaround that I know of.

Hope this helps & welcome aboard...:)

Hi All
Thanks to Jimbuna and Murr44 for your help and have been following your advice, i think i will have to reinstall all as silent hunter keeps crashing ( its only through mistake that you learn when you are not great at computers) so i will get at it, but the question i have is do i have to reinstall all versions of GWX or just 2.1 and what else would think i should have to enhance Silent Hunter.
what i have is
sh3 and ver 1.4
JSGME
SH GENERATOR

Hi there!

I've been playing SH3 for months and I learned about this forum through Wikipedia.

Anyways, on the TypeVIIB, the fuel markers in the command room seem to be all the same. "1234, 1234, 1234" from top to bottom. Anyway to read/fix this?

Thx!

I presume your playing the game in it's original configuration because IIRC that is a very old fault.

Try a mod such as GWX and you'll find the fault has been rectified. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

I wish there was a "Mods" sticky that would give a brief description (and the file name) of each of the mods for SH3. Since the mods that come with GWX2.1 are explained in the manual, they could be excluded.

E.g., I was browsing the forum a couple of weeks ago and came across a reference to a "lifeboats and debris" mod in someone's signature. I did a search and came up empty. Later, someone referred to it as "Rubini's" mod. I did another search, and eventually was able to discover the file name (LifeBoats_Debris_v2_A.rar) and where to download it.

IMHO, such a sticky would be helpful both to newbies and people (like me) who've been playing SH3 for a long time.
