// EDIT : Last news in last posts ^^

Hi!
Please, if you're interested in this unit don't "spam" Cavour's thread; this is more "adapt";

This is mi WIP Warspite; not 100% accurated, just a "while waiting for a better version"; she's based on GWX's team multiskin Revenge:

What do you think about this?

Comments and suggestions are welcome ^_^

For a WIP that looks pretty comprehensive - great work, man!

Just noted a few details here:

http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/3517/warspiteeditux3.jpg

Despite what X1 Software () would have us believe, the Revenge class is only superficially similar to the QEs. The secondary 6" armament is further forward on the QEs (the Revenge set-up was moved back as an improvement in light of operational experience). The 4" turrets are the same ones from the Hunt class, etc.

The torpedo bulges were improved versions of the ones fitted to the Revenge battleships - to use the same ones would have led to an unacceptable loss of speed.

Here's a great model that gives you a 3D idea of her setup:

And a set of plans:

Good luck, and thanks for getting this far!

Hmm, Looks very nice.
I've got spec blueprints photos and a model of HMS Barham, My Grandfather served on her during WW1, this was before she was feffited alongside Warspite, The two ships being sisters and were built alongside each other.
They cost 1.3 million each to build and then were reffitted during the 1930s for a cost of 3.5 million each (inflation or what?)
Only Barham was sunk all the others went through both world wars intact either being sold or scrapped at the end of WW2
My Grandfather saw action on Barham including the battle of Jutland, I've got photos of the action, But I'm still not allowed to show them publicly, even afternearly 90 yrs, Sorry :nope:

But that model looks almost there, I can't wait to see the final version

Honor to your grandfather, Chris!
He served on a glorious battleship!
You're lucky

Last pic for today, i'm going to bed:

http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/5420/warspite3ua9.jpg

Fixed Octuple A\A, and another couple of lifeboats (see the model and the blueprints; it should be here)

In this pics you can also see 4" and rangefinder placed;
maybe the rangefinder's base is too high?

Tomorrow i think i'll release this "2 days" work; move the 6" cannons is hard (too hard?); i'll make some test before final release :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

If someone want to say something, he is welcome!

Von Dos, that is brilliant. I thought the torpedo bulges would be impossible, but your modifications to them look exactly like the real-life ones. Superb work

Considering your work on the rest of the model, I don't think anyone'd be too critical about the 6" guns. I certainly am not. You have done the best job that can be done with the Revenge model - certainly better than anything seen so far.

If you're considering any modifications before release, the only thing I'll add is that the 4" guns were just above the 6" on the main deck - see below....

Just a suggestion, of course. You have done such a good job and great service I feel like I'm nitpicking rather than offering suggestions. Can't wait for your finished model!

PS - Here's a plan of the Revenge class to compare. Hope it's of some use.

A great achievment in such a short space of time, superb looking VonDos:rock:If certain things are to hard or aren't do-able then don't be to hard on your self, your to much of a perfectionist:up:;)we will all be most grateful just to have another fine ship of yours to sink,as for the 6"guns,I myself don't intend getting up that close and personal to check them out:rotfl:

The fine ship! Just that is necessary for mission U25 near Narvik. But it would be quite good to make for it the native case...

Hi!

Last news: lowered deck level (not perfect but more realistic)

http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/6213/warspite3di3.jpg

test: 3 Warspite VS 1 Bismarck

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3091/warspite1qf9.jpg

Nice match to see ^_^
After a lot of hits, Bismarck sunk; but before she claims a victim, the first in the row:

http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/8908/warspite4et9.jpg

Well, this is my Warspite; test on 6" for now are negative; the are hard to move; deck has been lowered, and rangefinder and weapons nodes adjusted for this.

If no one want to say something other, i'll release her tonight (now i'm going out for 5 o 6 hours) :D

Suggestions are always welcome, remember ^_^

Regards, VD

Just one word: magnificent.

For such a quick job it's a remarkably good representation of the ship. Your skills are...impressive, young Jedi.

Are you going to increase the hitpoints over the Revenge class to take Warspite's legendary durability into account?
