Hello there,
first of all i want to thank the people responsible for making those mods. they all look great and added greatly to the playability and fun of SH4.
my question is mainly the install order of those mods.
i would assume it is
sh4
uboat missions,
tmo
rsrd
rsrd patch
om
om patch
tmo uboat enable4
then the PE mods? which of those do i have to install for tmo, rsrd and OM? the install guide only mentions tmo and rsrd, not OM thats why i am asking. so is the order correct, or uboat enable at the very last mod, and what mods from PE3
any ideas and help is greatly appreciated
thx,
tearsofwrath
Hello,
First off TMO comes with W_Clears environmental mods included. If you load PE3 over the top of TMO make sure you use the TMO compatability files that Kriller released.
Here is my install list for TMO.
TMO 1.5b
RSRDC
RSRDC Patch
PE2 Clouds
Thats all, nice and tidy and no conflicts. Keeps you on patrol.

thank you wilcke, i know about the installation file. i am just wondering how or where operation monsoon and the uboat enable fits into the install order :) as i like both sides, uboot and fleetboat :)
thx anyways and still hoping someone would know.
tearsofwrath,
I would suggest would be to make a second copy of SH4 1.5 on your hard drive and
make one copy for the U-boats and one for the Fleet boats.
I personally have 3 copies: Stock(U-boats), RFB(when it comes out), and TMO.
All you need to do is to do a copy & paste. Copy your original SH4 folder, create
a second folder and paste into that folder. Then I would install MultiSH4 into both
main folders and run it to set up 2 different save folders in your "My Documents" folder.

Good, your on track then. I also run multiple installs. Less headaches, less maintenance. 1.) RFB 2.) TMO 3.) Operation Monsun
This is the best solution I can come up with...
Its still does not answer your question, someone will I am sure.

Just so you know--I had 1.4, TMO, PE3, PE3.1 and PE3.2 installed. Prior to PE 3.2 I was experiencing CTD's whenever I took serious damage. Taking damage and then boom, CTD. I installed PE 3.2 as soon as it was released. The next time I took serious damage I CTD again; however, this time it was such a dramatic crash I was unable to get back into that career. First time that happened. I had that career saved under three different names and they were all corrupted. Everytime I attempted to load that career, any of them, I CTD before getting into it.
I now use only TMO. I haven't been seriously damaged yet with this loadout so can't report whether this fixed the problem.

I would realy like to know if anyone else have experienced such CTD's :o with the new patch for TM in PE 3.2? the mod is downloaded 1000 times and I haven't had any reports about such a serious crash.
@Banjo what mods did you run when the serious crash happened?
Did you install TM and PE3 in this order?
TM
ROW PE3 Install #1
PE3_1 Ship_debris_SH4_fixed_with bodies
PE3_1 Sky and reflection controls and textures
PE3_2_reflections_mod for harbour and objects
PE3_2 submarine bubbles and caustics and roll pitch for TM (important!)
PE3_2 patch for TM (important!)
It's important to install the 2 above if you want to use PE3 with TM.
My install:
TMO
PE 3
PE 3.1
PE 3.2
No other mods. I did not break the installs down as you show. I just used JSGME to install. The only other thing I did was to manually delete the bodies in the water file before install. I was not sure if JSGME would give me the option of which file to install (the readme said to only install one) so that is how I handled it.
Subsequent to my above post I started to receive serious damage and was again CTD. This was with TMO only, so I assume my problem is not PE related. I did a clean install (even deleted the sh4 registsry entry) patched to 1.4 and added TMO again. That is where I am now. Haven't taken damage with this install yet.
A question you could maybe answer--I knnow TMO contains a lot of mods of various kinds--so, if I add PE to TMO will I notice much difference in anything? In other words, does PE add or adjust much over what TMO has already changed? Hope this is clear. Thanks.

Banjo,
I maybe talking out of my ..... but you had better have a peek at those mod folders you may find that there are more mods nested in them. So yes you have installed "nothing", again I maybe mis-reading your post. Sorry if I did.
TMO comes with W_Clears Environmental Mod built in. Kriller has released a Patch for TMO you will have to go to that thread and sort it all out.
Happy hunting!
Wilcke, if I am reading you right I cannot just use JSGME to install the PE mods? I must open each mod and manually install each of the folders? Is that correct? Thanks.

No..no..no..so sorry that is not what I meant, PE3 is all JSGME installable, its just that your list looked like the main folders that hold the actual differently named PE3 mods.
Thats all....sorry for the confusion.

If you installed the 3.1 and 3.2 folders with JSGME, then you are only running PE3 and no patches. You will know this is the case if JSGME didn't ask to overwrite anything when you installed the patches. The patches above are broken down into their elements because that is how they have to be installed.
Ah, I am easily confused--and still am. When I open the JSGME it shows, for example, PE 3.1 patch. Period. However, if I open the PE 3.1 folder in the MODS folder it contains four files and a readme. I assumed when I had JSGME install PE 3.1 it installed whatever was necessary. I always assumed I did not have to deal with those imbedded files individually. So yes, my installed mods looked like--
TMO
PE 3
PE 3.1
PE 3.2
But you indicate this is incorrect. Sigh... But thanks for trying to help me. I appreciate it. Guess I just stick with TMO alone. I like it fine.

Yeah, all mod files must have the data folder within them as the next folder down. Always open the downloaded folders until you get to the Data folder. The named folder that contains the data folder is the folder that goes into the MODS folder and is selected with JSGME. Always look at the readme in the main download folder, as this will almost invariably contain instructions for installing the components. Also, you should probably read the manual for JSGME, as I don't think you understand how the program works. RTFM and all that. ;)
Open the ROW PE3 folder and copy the 5 named folders within to the MODS directory. (do not copy the "options" folder)
Open the 3.1 folder, copy the 4 folders within to the MODS directory.
Open the 3.2 folder, copy the 4 folders within to the MODS directoy.
Open JSGME and follow the instructions for installation Kriller posted above:
TM
ROW PE3 Install #1
PE3_1 Ship_debris_SH4_fixed_with bodies
PE3_1 Sky and reflection controls and textures
PE3_2_reflections_mod for harbour and objects
PE3_2 submarine bubbles and caustics and roll pitch for TM (important!)
PE3_2 patch for TM (important!)
The above structure is how the right side of JSGME should look when you are done. There will be many PE folders unused.
