When I first came to subsim I heard a rumour about a secret button, hidden somewhere on the forum, which had the power to bestow on any visitor the wealth of virtually all of the knowledge that was ever shared at this site. At first I was intruiged, but then I became obsessed... I had to see this mysterious button for myself! I had to know whether it really existed, and whether it did what it was rumoured to do!
I searched far and wide.
I searched day and night.
To no avail...
...until now!
Yes, my search is finally over! And with you all, my friends, I will share what I have found, so that we all can benefit from it's power! I found the button, and when you open it, it looks like this:

Isn't it beautiful?

Sorry OLC, you've lost me. I don't understand.
Which Search do I click on? The one called "Search" or the one called "Search this Thread"? When I click on either, I don't get the same as your image. Mine looks like the below:
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/2026/image1nh6.gif (http://imageshack.us)
As you can see, it's blue, not grey. And the "Calendar" screen provides no help at all. What am I doing wrong?
It's all too confusing. Can you post clearer instructions?

I tried using it exactly as you said and it didn't work. You must have made a mistake. And that clattering noise was all my fridge magnets falling off and hitting the floor

Its resolutions it too small I suggest you increase it size to 4096x4096 but I don't thinks Subsim can't handle the heat..:yep: :rotfl:
OT I know, but can someone please tell me how to perform a search in the forums? :hmm: I have seen it in all other forums I have browsed, but I just fail to find it here :damn:

I believe OLC is referring to the Advanced Search button. And I also use the "Smart Dark" Subsim Theme(JScones).

Is there a manual available on this subject that I might enlighten myself more.

No. It works with it, but it's not truly compatible.

Oh, it's easy. First you type in all the words you're looking for, but they can't be less than four letters long, so that leaves out half of the words that might be of any use. Then you find out that it only takes one word at a time, so you go to 'Advanced Search' and do it again. Then you find out that half of the words left over are "common" words, so they don't work either. So you leave those out, and then find out that you don't have any words left that make any sense, so you throw those out, and find that you don't have any words left at all. So you now have to jiggle the niggle just a giggle, and up pops fifteen references to something you never heard of, so you try it again with the name of the guy who created whatever you're looking for, only to find that he's not listed anywhere. So, you finally start a new thread to ask for help, and get no response because nobody knows what you're talking about. Then you bump the thread and half the responders respond with "I don't know what you're talking about, but I hope it gets worked out", and the other half comes back with "Use the *&$%#( Search Button! That's what it's there for!" So you say "I tried that, but it doesn't work!" Then you get a bunch of responses that all say "GWX! It's the answer to everything!" Finally you go out and shoot yourself, and six months later someone asks "What ever happened to good old Whatsisname?", and half the responders respond with "Didn't he get keelhauled?" and the other half come up with "I hated that git anyway."
Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

There's nothing wrong with dropping your "haiches". I drop me haiches all the time. I even dropped 'em in front o' the queen, once.

I'm reminded of an old joke about a New Yorker visiting London: "Youse goys shooah do tok funny!"
An American tourist from New York was in London waiting to cross a busy road via a zebra crossing. After a moment, the lights changed to red, the green man showed, and the beeper sounded.
Confused, the New Yorker looked at a local and asked, "I say there, what's with that noise?"
"It's to let blind people know that the lights have changed," came the reply.
"Gee!" exclaimed the American. "Back home in New York, we don't let the blind drive."
