Can someone explain to me what is the relationship between the storage in the .Sim file ?

and the UPC of the same sub; I can't get any explanation about how to set the N° of Torpedoes in the STORE & in RESERVE ....it's realy confusing :damn:

Well, I'm not 100%sure about this, but it works this way:

-the sim file contains the model properties, so inside this file are the values concerning number of torpedo tubes and number of reserve slots. Think about it as the internal submarine structure..

-the upc file is the one controlling on board equipment, weapons and ammunitions.
It says what is on your submarine and the quantity fo the specific equipment (i.e mak 14 torpedoes, Bold 3 decoys etc)

If you want to set a different amount of torpedoes, first check the sim file and be sure that the amount of torpdoes does'n exceed the sim file configuration (i.e you can't set 20 reloads in the fore compartment if in the sim there is space for 12)

Then modify the upc file. Search for the fore/aft bunker reserve

andycaccia is correct in his usumption. I just tested it out on a boat I'm modding and it worked perfectly.

Another thing I ran into, if you mod the IDstorage you can add different types of torpedoes a boat might not have been able to carry so early in the war.

Thanks; but in which part of the Text is it . I've been told to look forward "Bunker" but in fact the paragraph below the term is not clear regarding the Amount in storage

One thing I tried (and failed) to do was to make a torpedo that took up less than one space. If I could do that, I could make mines that would be accurate (close, anyway) in terms of numbers carried.

The rest of it works fine, but it didn't seem worth it unless you could carry 2-3 mines per fish not carried.

The capacity value is for the total space at your disposal on the sub. The number of torpedoes is the one following the torpedo type

this way

ID=SternTorpedoRoom <<<<< this is the torpedo room (stern internal)
Capacity=8 <<<<<< this is the total capacity of the compartment

IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault1= NULL, 1943-03-01, T2Torpedo, 8 <<<< this line means that form 1939 to 1943-03-01 you will carry 8 t2 torpedoes as reloads

IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault2= 1943-03-02, 1943-09-01, T2Torpedo, 4, T3Torpedo, 4 <<<<< this means that from 1943-03-02 to 1943-09-01 you will have 4 t2 and 4 t3 torpedoes

IDLinkAmmunitionIntervalDefault3= 1943-09-02, NULL, T3Torpedo, 8 <<<< and this means that from that date onwards you will carry 8 t3 toredoes out of 8 of total capacity.

This is from a german sub...I've modded only US ones, so i'm not sure it will work.

If you want to change you'll have to mod all lines.

let's suppose for practice that you want to carry 8 T1 torpedoes from the beginning of the war to the end... so it will be:

simply delete the extra intervals. You can set the amount you want and also the torpedo type (could be T4, T5 etc), search for the names.

That is each torpedo tube in the boat. Look down below at NameDisplayable, and you'll see to which tube it's referrring.

and where are located (in the upc) the back Torpedoe tubes ?
Bunkers are the storage areas for torpedoes not loaded in the tubes.

The section for the stern torpedo tubes is located in the STERN TORPEDO section of COMPARTMENT EQUIPMENT & WEAPS.
