I seem to recently remember seeing mention that someone was bringing a new playable model of the IX B or C for SH4, but can't seem to find mention of it now.

Does anyone know what thread that was?

Look in the "Operation Monsun" thread. Lurker hb, who has developed Operation Monsun, is curently working on the "operation Drumbeat" where he also wants to add playable IX C and IX B.
