Please..... Is there a morrowind/oblivion type "construction set" tool for SH4 to manipulate 3d objects in the .dat files ?????

At present I'm using a combination of the mission editor, S3d (great, wonderful amazing program    ) and hex editing to try and work on my first Non-Texture mod.

Based on this:

I'm trying to add a small touch of historical accuracy to Pearl.

I've gotten about this far:

1. Pearl Sub Base map - still needs some adjustments, (waiting for final layout outoutcome)

2. Pearl Sub Base - looking South

3. Pearl Sub Base - looking East

Deleting un-needed objects is fairly straight forward once I've identified what I don't need (find object Id in s3d look at 3d object in GLC player (recheck to see that its what has to be deleted)) slow but do-able.

But here's why I'm asking for a construction set type tool, moving things around is "not much fun - Jan", {i.e find object id, move object a little - load game - look for effect - find object id again, move object a little more - reload game - look for effect - etc, etc...}

Is there an easier way?

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

I'm completely new to this non-texture type work so any help would be greatly appreciated. :yep: :yep: :yep: :yep: :yep:

Mikhayl is right, using 3dsmax coordinates is the easiest way:D

But I use the Guessing-Testing-Guessing-System;)

After some weeks this method is very fast and effective:up:

Maybe you could ask Ubisoft for their software developing kit; I think its name was Kashmir

Thanks Guys,

Mihhayl, I once downloaded the free trial version of 3dsmax - and made a blue cube. So I don't think the 3d modding way is going to help me at the moment, but thank you for explaining that it can be done. ["note to self" - stop being lazy and learn 3d modding :damn: :damn: :damn: }.

Xantrokoles, will Ubisoft really give me the SDK :o ,   . So I gues its back to "Guessing-Testing-Guessing-System;)" and heaps more practice.

Guys, I noticed that I need to put a lot of fuel tanks behind the buildings to the Eastern side of the base. If doing "G-T-G-Sys" does it make any difference whether I delete the objects I don't want and then import the new objects I do want...... or can I just change the object Id of the objects I don't want...to the new object .....and then start G-T-G it????:hmm:????
