What happened to the 'Max range at current speed' command in version 1.5?

I seem to remember before the U-boat expansion, I had set my commands.cfg file to give me a maximum range for the amount of fuel I had when I pressed 'ctrl-G'. Now, I can't find that command in the file. Did they get rid of it? How are we supposed to manage our fuel consumption now?

Any ideas? :hmm:

I'm pretty sure mine is still there, although I do it through the menu bar. One thing to note, it seems to take a while to stabilize. I remember checking it sometime back and the numbers seemed way off. After waiting a few more minutes, I checked it again and it seemed on par. So, set the speed and wait a few minutes before checking it, then run the report again to check for consistency.

It wasn't as I recall part of 1.4, so maybe not 1.5 either. Both TMO and RFB include it.

Would anyone have a copy of the older commands.cfg file that does have the command in it?

I could use that to recreate it into the 1.5 file and add a keybinding to it. :hmm:

I remember you had to be at speed(not accelerating or decelerating) for it to work, because it was a function of fuel consumption vs speed.

Are you sure? I've just downloaded TMO and it's not in there. (EDIT: I'm not seeing it in the RFB mod either)

If anyone has a commands.cfg or ordersbar file with the 'maximum range at current speed' function, would you please post here?

OR, if anyone is doing a fresh install of SH4, would you please post the commands.cfg file? :up:

The "Max range at current speed" function was part of SH3 but not in stock SH4, in any of the patches including 1.5. TMO I know has it because I use it.

If you are playing stock or whatever and want to add it it is quite simple if you know how to use Jimimadrid's SH4 Menumaker.

The item you are looking for to add as a button on your ordersbar I believe is 'Report_time_to_turn'. I remember searching these forums high and low before finding that was what it was called.

It can also be added as a keystroke (as is done in TMO), but I haven't done that myself.

The button works for both uboats and fleetboats.

edit: in TMO the button is on the Navigation tab, 7th button over. I don't know the keystroke offhand.

Hi all!
sorry for my very poor english, but i hope to have the solution for "Max range at current speed".
I have SH4 1.4 and not the Add On 1.5, perhaps the solution is the same one.
In the stock Commands.cfg SH4 1.4 the cmd 257 is:

[Cmd257]
Name=Report_time_to_turn
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F250002

in the modified Commands.cfg the cmd 257 is like that:

[Cmd257]
Name=Report_time_to_turn
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F250002
Key0=0x47,s,"Shift+G"

therefore in this way I have the Max range at current speed with Shift+G.
I hope to have to you helped in the problem.

GAAAAAHHH!!!! :damn:

Report_time_to_turn!!!!

That's why I couldn't find it! :damn: And that's why I didn't see it when I went through TMO and RFB! All I remembered was when you used that function, the message you got was "Maximum range at current speed is **** nm", so that's what I was looking for, "Maximum_range". :nope:

Time to Turn? I had seen that several times and I had always wondered why someone would want to know how long it was going to take to make a turn. Is that German for Maximum Range at Current Speed or something?

Thanks everyone! :up: I was about ready to jump ship over here!

In TMO it's Shift G and Cntl G for max range and dist. to go.

Nope, not that I'm aware of.
