Hey guys, as announced in this forum:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132562

I've been working on a little app (unfortunately only in excel :damn:) to configure the torpedo loadouts for a IX Sub. I also have one for the Walther but that is still in prototype form.

The beta is here, a bit of patience is required and it needs some getting used to as it is an excel app!

http://files.filefront.com/Torpedo+editor+type+IX+botzip/;10042757;/fileinfo.html

Its 12.5mb as it had to have a pretty interface of sorts.

-------------

Important (PLEASE READ!):

The mod comes in two parts!

Part 1 is the mod that actually changes the files in your game to allow the IXD U-boat to have any kind of torpedos you want

Part 2 is the excel app that gives you a half decent interface to select the torpedoes.

-------------------------------------

Instructions (PLEASE READ!):

1. Unzip the file to your MODs folder but do not enable the mod in JSGME yet as the excel file has to change the files in this folder first before we enable the mod.

2. Open the excel file.

3. select the second tab titled "IXD Loadout"

4. Click on any of the green cells to select a torpedo from the drop down list. There is reference on the top left hand of the screen that tells you what each torpedo is.

5. The white cells will autopopulate with the green cell choice. I am not sure why but I could not make the configuration files in SH4 allow me to select these cells. As a default, the white cells will all contain the torpedo you chose in the green cells above them.

6. When you're done click on the torpedo loading photo in the top right of the screen.

7. Follow instructions that pop up.

8. DO NOT touch the third tab "NSS_Uboat9d2.upcge" Excel takes a snapshot of this and creates a new file with it so tampering with this will result in a dodgy file!!!!

Cross your fingers!

Cheers

Jeff

No got beyond the beta I'm afraid, sharing subsimming with a 2 year old kid is proving more difficult than it once seemed

Does the beta work okay for you?
