hello, i am new to Silent editor, but i'm wondering how do i merge two mods together when they operate within the same files..
i'm planning on building a extensive bugfix/issue address modpack and want to get started on it.
thanks!

I'm sorry you've had as many views as you have in 12 hours and no answers, but I assume that most folks are like me; I look at a thread and if I can't give any real help I just move on.
I can't give any real help here, as I'm not up to date on how these things work, but I do know that when a file replaces the same file anything on the original that is not on the replacement gets lost. To combine files you have to go through both and make sure that everything you want from both is in one place and nothing that makes either work is left out. It's like writing a text file - you have to personally make sure that everything you want is there. The reader, or user, will never know what's missing; he'll only know it doesn't make sense.

There is no simple answer on this. Sometimes you can overwrite one file with another. At other times you have to open the different versions of the files and manually edit one of them to get all of the seperate fixes/updates to work. THen you have to test the crap out of it to make sure nothing gets broken in the process.
Go to the modding tools post and download winmerge and diffmerge (each one has it's own strengths), S3D, and one of the programming text editors. That will give you the basics you need.
