Hello folks,
I've made several changes at once here, so I can't pin down precisely why the Resolution Fix isn't working presently. Here's what I've done:
Installed GWX (I think it was working, e.g. 1280x960, after installed GWX)
Installed OLCE
Installed DirectX 9c (Version 35, I think)
Either of the last two items are probably correlated (I'm not certain of a causal relationship, however) to when it stopped working, i.e. I would execute SH3.exe and get the initial GWX wolf's cry logo, and then after that, instead of the SH3/GWX loading screen, I instead get a black screen. With Task Manager, I see a memory footprint that's small and not growing, so I'm sure it's dead, so I then end that process and proceed to scratch my head, desperately wanting my native LCD resolution back. :o
All is fixed when I execute the Resolution Fix uninstall batch file (and just for housekeeping, I also remove all RF files from the game dir, at this time). 1024x768 isn't nearly as seamless an experience as 1280x960 though, with almost 40% fewer pixels available.
I tried to uninstall the super latest version of DirectX 9 I installed a few days ago (so I could try the new Paradox Rome demo), but I couldn't find an entry for it in Add/Remove Programs. I'm not even sure I'm on to the right scent . . . maybe the cause lies somewhere else.
I'm stumped folks. :damn: You're my only hope. Naturally I appreciate any expertise you can impart. :hmm:
