Hi Guys!

Has anyone ever had any trouble with the SSMs in Dangerous Waters having no sensors and getting them to have some effectiveness? Lately I've been experimenting with them and they seem especially oblivious.

What SSM, what target?

I've been pitting Yono SSMs versus Super Tankers.

There is nothing by that name in the database, so I can't look up its sensor.

EDIT: Are you talking about the Yugo Midget Subs assigned to the DPRK? If so, the stock database doesn't assign them any sensors at all. If you're using LWAMI they have a visual sensor and should be able to make periscope attacks--or at least could, if its weapon was ASUW capable. I guess we can add that to the list.

Yugo... Yono... Yoko Ono...

It doesn't make much sense to give a submarine which only has a periscope a weapon with which it can't target surface vessels. :D

LW didn't "give" it any weapon, it was just overlooked. The Yugo retained the "Type 40" that it carried in the stock game. No change to the loadout was made when the Type 40 was reassigned to MPT-1UE specifications.

If it were me, I'd give 'em a wakehomer of some sort. Really, a submarine like that should have almost no antisubmarine warfare capability. It is ultimately like a floating, mobile mine.

Well the smallest wakehomer I think we have is the 53-56K, which isn't small by any means. I was thinking something along the lines of a 40cm-job, like the USET-95.

That'd work too. I don't think it really matters, honestly. I'd rather see them modeled with a HWT than a LWT, though. LWT are generally intended as ASW weapons. HWT are for destroying big ships. Other than that, don't think the size of the torpedo really matters.

You're right. The Yugo is in fact armed with 53cm torpedo tubes. So a HWT it will be.

For example set-65E or SAET-60 - old Soviet torpedos.

Heh, I only do this for a living. :know:
