Maybe try it in Windowed mode. You'll have to restart the game after you make the change in the graphics menu.

Alt-Tab works for me, I use it constantly. Don't know why it doesn't work for you. Could you have a keybinding that traps the key?

How about changing the TimeStop=0 to 1 in the [TIMECOMPRESSION] section? It affects TimeScale 0, but I don't know if it also affects 'Pause' which is not the same thing in SH4... Worth a shot ;)

ALthough you may end up having no way to pause the game ever :)

In SH3 I could alt-tab during long 64TC patrols to spam subsim or other interesting stuff on the PC, but in SH4 if I alt-tab the game stays in "pause". Is this something fixed in the game engine or is there some trick to keep it running while reduced ?

Alt+Tab works fine for me. I often rammed my boat into something while i spent my time in forum :damn:

Alt \ Tab used to work in SH-3 for me. Now it doesn't and I have to use the Window key.

Neither way has ever worked for me in SH4.

If it's of any consolation, ALt-Tabbing to Windoze will crash the game for me ever since I got the new rig :nope:
