Hello all,

I was wondering if there were a way to introduce hurricanes/typhoon's/monsoon like weather into the game randomly? I assume monsoon's could be programmed for a specific part of the year, but I thought it would be great to come across a hurricane, maybe even get a radio flash from HQ to watch out.

Wondering if any modders out there have explored this?

Thanks,

A lot of the environemntal modders have experiemnted with wave heights and due to game and typical computer configurations, it was decided that 15 kt winds with moderate swells is the worst that it will get in game.

15kt and medium waves huh, hmmm, we'll that's sort of a shame. I remember in SH3 being in the N. Atlantic, and feeling genuinely lost because of the weather. Couldn't see ships 100m away, rain, fog, huge waves. It was fantastic. Haven't seen the like in SH4, but I guess I can deal with the calming seas and cool ocean breezes.

Thanks,

Some of the environmental mods added in thick, realistic fog. Even the light fog only allows about 1500 yards/meters of visibility.

Sure, if you liike flying boats:p :p :p

One difference in many of the SH4 modders that have not worked on SH3 is they won't do something "just because". If setting paramters past a certain point creates unrealistic glitches they don't like to do it. So if you want 40ft waves and flying submarines/ships, you're more than welcome to mod in huge waves.

I don't know about you, but I found the "flying merchants" in SH3 beacuse of the huge waves disgusting.

Yeah, surfing boats almost made me break up SH4 disc. Living Breathing Ocean Mod
saved the ganme for me.
