Try installing the included "Small wave of wind speed 0 mod" on top of E4.3 and you should have some very light water surface movement at 0 m/s. This worked at least with the earlier release of E4.3. Haven't tried the new one myself yet, though.

With the "Small wave..." installed it looks exactly the same for me. Quite good, but also for my taste the little waves are maybe a little too dense (tight, close) and regular.:-?

Perhaps the perfect solution would be a compromise half way between the "Small wave..." and E4.3 stock.:hmm:
I'm sure W_Clear is capable to produce/fine tune such a compromise Scene.dat for us to test.:yep::know:

It would be great if W_Clear could give us this extra compromise alternative.:D
I think that with 3 alternative solutions for 0 m/s wind everybody's taste would be covered.:sunny:

Otherwise I think that in the new E4.3 the colour atmosphere and water texture in general are outstanding. It's like being in an interactive movie. Bravo and thank you W_Clear!:arrgh!:

Hi, W clear , can you tell me please how to post a screen shoot ,to show you the result of your mod in my SH4 game , i press print screen Sys Rq ,, but dont know what to do after that ,I still dont get exact the screensots as beautyful like your screenshoots , my ocean colour is less blue , pale blue ( even with 70% blue sky and 30% white clouds in the sky ) , the area on the sky that is blue , reflect in light grey colour on the water ,the area in the sky with white clouds reflect in blue area on the ocean, thank you

please download again.

Hello W_clear,

OK, I understand that the weather changes faster in E4.3 than before, and that is why we will not have 0 wind (or any other condition) for a long time, before it changes.

If that is correct, which files are responsible for the fast change of weather? Is it your Scene.dat or some other files?

Thank you very much for your efforts!:up:

I had test mikehcl's scene.dat.All at first, the wave of wind speed 0 of yours is overstated very much,

Then talk about your 8 meters to revise .This wave is not wave of wind speed of 8 meters absolutely. And the structure of wave is unrealistic . http://i32.tinypic.com/23i75v8.jpg

I had make two kinds of wave of wind speed 0 newly for the other friend who don't likes the wave of the mirrors.

1.The wave looks like the river, very like .LOL.

http://i28.tinypic.com/20sinnk.jpg

2.Small " big " wave not as the mirror.

Hi Clear, I think the "jelly" water he refers to may be the similar problem that ROW had. Sometimes after comeing out of Time Compression, and going to external view, the water would appear to shake like jelly. The quick solution (for ROW at least) was to pause the game in the Map screen befor returning to external view. If this is the same problem, then I'm sure Kriller and company could explain it alot better than me. I believe, though I'm not sure, that the new PE fixes this. I hope that helps some!:yep:

I have already seen, after the game Time Compression runs, the sea water of 0 meters of wind will like the " jelly " . This is a question of game .in order to solve this problem,I have adjusted sea water of 0 meters again, and the test after the time compression, before the time compression, divide test two times, got 0 meters of satisfied sea of mine of making at last.

It's before the time compression

Although I'm a fan of your work, W_clear, I've decided to revert to TMO's "built-in" Environment 4.0 effects.

I'm sorry, but the fog effects are too "harsh" on me, and I think they prevent me from locking on at a far too short distance. I can only hope there will come a newer version of TMO with a more recent version of Environments, where the fog effects are reduced.

I guess that's just my own opinion, but I thought you should know. Thanks for the hard work anyway!

Well i am looking to adapt the latest version of this mod into TM. Ive PMed W_clear asking about it, no word on that yet. Im happy either way. (new or old scene.dats) But many users enjoy this great mod, so in an indirect way im sort of pressured to get it meshed into TM so everything functions as it should by public demand.

To that end, i think the problem with being unable to lock onto targets is probably a visual sensor problem... the players visual sensor.

The enviormental effects for player sensors is in sh4/data/cfg/sensors.cfg., which if memory serves me correctly, is a file unadjusted by Wclears mod.

As a ballpark figure, you could take the visual fog factor in that file, and cut it by half. I think the default is 1, try 0.5 and see if that helps. Although, its my intent to get a more exact figure through ye ole trial and error testing.

No on the contrary! I love your work! I'm still using it. I just had to revert to the older version of your work included in TMO.

I'm just not very good at handling that Compulsory Tweaking Disorder yet, so I have to let others handle it for me, but I'll experiment with the sensors file again. I tried to lower the fog factor to 0.1 once but somehow it didn't help so much I think. Bah, must've been me...

As I wrote earlier in this thread (and everybody seems to ignore that ^^), setting the fog factor in the sensors.cfg to 0.1 will enable you to get a lock on target in a dark night with light fog up to 4400yd and the deck crew will spot ships at this range too.
Only when it's bright day, my deck crew sometimes spots a merchant or warship at distances (30000yd or more) where I only see a wall of fog ;)

The fog factor in the sim.cfg changes the ability of other vessels in the sim (like DDs) to spot YOU. So this value has to be changed too I think - else you've got a big advantage over the "prey". I've the value set to 0.2. This seems to work fine.

W_clear

Why do some people say can not lock on target? I tested, you can lock on target.:hmm:

First of all: W_clear, Your mod is really superb. Keep the good work.

I personally like the most a water reflections in this mod. But also like the ROW/PE2 because of other stuff that are included in (fx, clouds, underwater, fog etc.).
So, I just wonder if it is posibble to adopt only water reflections and textures from E4.4 into PE2? Is it possible W_clear (or somebody else) to indicate me what exactly determine this beautyfull efect of sun reflections on water? This water looks really "live & vivid" with it, instead to stock water or even ROW/PE water. It is also more like on pacific ocean pictures than the other kinds of water that we could use.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Reagards!

Been running your Mod in conjunction with Lurker's OM, we have made it to the "Cape" and are about to turn NNE. Everything is looking good. I will put up some screenies tonight as I forgot to upload them to the "bucket".

I don't go much for the environmental mods as they cause more problems than they fix.

Good work! Looks good!

A last question : At my opinion, there is a lttle bit too much fog. There is very often fog in the morning and in the end of the afternoon. It is beautiful but I would like to see more sun! :sunny: (and more targets :arrgh!: ).... Someone could tell me where can I change this data and so reduce "fog time" please?

Thank you!

Please W Clear, could you tell me if "Enviromental 4.3" is a "stand alone" mod or if I need to install 4.1, 4.2 and then 4.3? Thank you!

Ti's a stand alone MOD.

Very nice work W Clear! I now find myself putting on my polorized sun glasses to cut the glare from the reflections! Like when I'm fishing from my boat!

Don't worry about how the water looks when it's completely calm, and there's no waves. You got it so close that it works fine.

Thanks for the efforts!  :|\\

E4.3---- 0/ m wind waves, when a long period of time compression, it will appear as "jelly." E4.4 will resolve this error (I've resolved)

Haven't seen the "jelly" yet. I'll look for it. But I rarely go above 1024 for time compression.

More than 2048 X relatively long run, you ano see "Jelly".

Hi Wclear,
PE3 is up and I used alot of time trying to adjust the waves so they come in columns which makes the sub move more realistic to the waves, you are welcome to download it and examine if there is something in there you can use from my scene.dat work.

Volumetric Fog do not need to adjust scene.dat, the current adjustment Volumetric Fog I basically finished.

Thanks W Clear, so I am waiting your next update ! :arrgh!:
I have tell about your mod here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=850496#post850496) Captures from your mod are really marvellous.
I use another mod too for the clouds. I think the clouds we can see in the last capture (sunset) are from it.

Thanks!

In the newest release of 4.3 does one experience the huge wave effect as one did in 4.0? 4.0 looked like a monsoon at times and I loved it!
