I've just noticed that the KielCanaldock files used for Cartagena and Port T aren't stock files , i've watched but it seems i messed somewhere (i've four Silent hunter games in the Ubisoft folder) . KielCanaldock files are files made by Ref and CCIP for the GWX Holtenau harbour if you have GWX installed there shouldn't be any problems if you don't have GWX you need the files KielCanaldock.dat , KielCanaldock.tga , KielCanalPort.dat , KielCanalPort.tga (data\Terrain\Locations) and HB_KielCanaldock.tga and HB_KielCanalPort.tga (data\MissionEditor\Locations) there are two solutions first one you install GWX somewhere but not in your SilentHunterIII folder and simply copy the files in your game the second as GWX 's something like 1Gb weight you send me a PM i'll send you the files

There are two ways to do so the first that i've made is to pick the things you want from GWX and integrate them to your installation but it's long and complicated i just can't say if i could remember what i've done , the second is the one below

Download the WAC supermod WAC_2.0_Light_Part_2.zip file here (http://hosted.filefront.com/Tuddley3/1943119) extract the content
move the Colombia folder (Roster) in your Roster folder (SilentHunterIII\data\Roster)
open your DefSide.cfg (Roster) with Notepad scroll to end and add this (i shorten to facilitate the things)

Replace the xx by the last side entry +1 for example if your last side entry is [SideEntry 54] it should be [SideEntry 55]
go into your Roster folder of American copy the Land folder into your new Colombia folder (Roster)
go into the Land folder you've just made (Roster/Colombia) delete the files SmallAirBaseUS.cfg , NormalAirBaseUS.cfg and LargeAirBaseUS.cfg
download the WAC_2.0_Light_Part_3.zip file extract , open the sea folder (WAC 2.0 Light Part 3) move the following folders into your sea (SilentHunterIII\data) folder

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I've got GWX 2.0 installed so there shouldn't be any problem making the changes.

The new ports/bases are a great addition to the game. If you're planning any more, among the major locations left out of stock SHIII were Vera Cruz, Mexico's largest port on the Gulf of Mexico, and Lourenco Marques (now Maputo), a deep water port in southern Mozambique, which handled a lot of South African trade.

i'm enhancing my traffic each time i need a port i create it . two japanese harbors Naha and Apra . Okinawa (Naha) and Guam (Apra) had two airfields each which seem to be operational until the 1 may 1945 for Okinawa airfields and until 1 august 44 for Guam but i didn't put them as i don't know if you have airfields for that country installed

I've been thinking the same thing, only not so much adding as fixing. Pretty much everything in Kiel is in the wrong place. Same with Wilhelmshaven. In SH4 Midway is just the opposite: it needs almost everything removed.

Awesome! I sent a PM to Kpt Lehman yesterday along the same lines, thinking to learn and get involved when you guys started on SH4, but all my comparisons are with a Google Earth shot of the area today. I see from the map that some of it has changed, but not much.

I've grabbed the map, and now must get back to work on Ship Names. One thing at a time...at least for my non-multitasking brain.

Cool. Does it have Wilhelmshaven? I'm hoping it looked more like the SH3 version than the harbor does today, or else the game's is totally wrong.

As I said, I haven't even played SH4, but comparing the screenshots of Midway with what I remember and with the mid-war aerial photograph I have, It needs a major overhaul; as in throwing out the whole thing and starting ov...no, wait, there is no starting over - there's nothing there but two small docks and an airfield.:rotfl:

No pic of Wilhelmshaven but all the other Atlantic ports are wrong so expect that one to be

Both pics differ slightly in bunker placement a little though but you get the general layout

I notice how most of the docks in the pictures are cut into the land mass rather than jut out from it.

St Nazaire... thats the docks we Brits slammed a destroyer into and put out of action!! Nutters we are! :lol: :smug:
