Is there a way to SLOOOOW the sinking of ships?

Man the ships in this game go down unbelievably fast....

Is there a general value that can be adjusted to slow the sinking of all ships?

I don't want to wait hours for a ship to sink but something more than 5 seconds would be nice.... :up:
