So the Japs weren't the only ones to do crazy things huh ? They said it was nearly impossible to recover the aircraft afterwards, but still, so they tried it as well.. who mods it ?

So the Japs weren't the only ones to do crazy things huh ? They said it was nearly impossible to recover the aircraft afterwards, but still, so they tried it as well.. who mods it ?Probably it was only a simple peacetime experiment. The launch/recover of a sub-based airplane is an extremely difficult operation also if the sea is completely calm...then,those S class tincans rolled and pitched quite violently:yep: . Maybe the US Navy thought to use it on the Great Lakes in case of war with Canada:rotfl: !!!!!!!!
who mods it ?
No one. It's a waste of time, and, as keltos pointed out, it was an experiment, nothing more, nothing less.

From that very picture:
In addition, launching and recovery were virtually impossible in the open ocean.
I think that says it all.
