This may have been discussed befor, but I haven't noticed. Is there a mod to distinguish which type of radar contact has been established? I don't know.As it stands right now, my RO only announces "Radar contact, bearing such and such, ect...". I don't know if he's picked up a surface target, or air. If my radar is off, then obviously it's an air contact, but if it's on, I need to first go to my radar screen and manualy check if there's a visable blip on screen or not. If there's not, I know an air threat is present. Is there something out, or could be modded to allow the RO to announce what type of radar contact has been established?

In case it matters, I'm running RFB for 1.4 (not the latest), as well as RSRD (again, not the latest).

Nope, there's just one string of text the radar man will report each and every time. It's one of those holdovers from SH3, where there was only one radar set installed at any one time.

I live with it by first checking to see the range to the contact, and its speed. In case of doubt I just switch off the SJ radar and see if the contact disappears.

I wish it weren't. Right now there are a LOT of features missing from SJ and SD radar that were present in reality (sending range to the TDC, a range readout display like with German radar, more bearing marks on the PPI, a separate scope for the SD which did not give bearing information, etc., etc.).
