Im sick of geting only enemy contact reports! I believe it was not the case in SH3 but i dont remember. I want my first contacts to be considered "unknown" so i have to go and take a closer look. That would be much more fun.

The problem is actualy just with time compression. I get the "ship-spotted" message on friendly contacts but it does not throw me out of TC so i know i dont have to care about it because its friendly. Same with sound contacts by the way.

what i need is actualy just a way to drop time compression on any contact. Regardless of its membership, so i started digging.

ive found this in main.cfg

this looks promising but as you see there are only values for the enemy so it doesnt help. I should also mention that there are two different main.cfg. The one in cfg folder is just a default file which is used as template when you install the game. The one that you must edit is in your personal directory.

[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=4
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=128;1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=8
RadioReport=8
Particles=8
PrayState=8
HunterState=32
3DRender=32
Maximum=8192

FriendlyDetected didnt help

another attempt was quite elegant :-)

ive noticed that time compression also drops when neutral ships appear. So a solution could be to turn all friendly ships to be neutral

That can be done in roster\DefSide.cfg

but there is one problem. When you set americans to neutral yourself also turns neutral. Meaning that noone will shoot at youre still considered at same side with americans. :huh:

maybe i could make americans neutral and just the sub belongig to another allied side i.e. british.
