I noticed this in TMO and wonder if other mods have the same issue. Not a show stopper but I am curious.
Also, is it correct to have the propellor mounted so the curved edge of the blade serves as the leading edge? This seems weird to me having flown aircraft and balanced and refinished a few wooden props in my time.

The props spinning the wrong way has been an issue since version 1.0 of the game.

I'd sure like it if ya got it. That would be great!
ANvart made a fix a long time ago. The only issue is it goes into the dat file and that was causing conflicts with ROW at the time.
Anvarts fix is a old fix, and I don't know if his is still compatible with 1.5 as I haven't checked.
So try the AOTD one for now
Please post link to fix,or read-me for dummies. That would be straight-up sir.

I'd still like to know if the propellers are also mounted backwards. I've been trying to find some photos of WW2 boats on the net and found this picture of the USS Grunion still underwater in the Bering Sea. If you enlarge the picture you can see that the propeller blades were actually symetrical in shape.

I just tried Anvarts old prop fix and it still works for SH4 v1.5.
Thought you all would like to know. Btw...I'm using generic mod enabler.
Mast
P.S.- The fix I have fixes all of the subs props, I think.

Hi,
i've tried MadMax' new prop-fix and also Anvart's old one (because it includes a fix for the S-class boats) ... but none of them does fix anything in my version.
The props keep spinning backwards. This drives me really crazy... :88)
I don't use any mod-packs like TMO, could that be the problem? I thought the modded *.dat files could also be used in stock 1.5, or am i wrong?

Im about to give that mod a little addition. Gonna be a pain in the butt, but im gonna take it and insert 4 nodes into each fleetboat dat file (sans s boat and Narhwal)

Happy fun time... naturally, i can't just isolate these all into a dat file and do a mass inport.. .Noooooo S3D doesnt like that. Soo. .back to importing node controllers one at a time. Its very tricky doing alot of inserts onto the Dat node like this.
edit:
And i might add, i think folks in general have an over obsession with subsurface graphics. I seriously don't think a submarine captain marvaleled at how well his props spin when commanding his boat. Main reason i go along with it, is cause the complaints from the general public never stop unless i do. :stare:
has anyone got a screenie on what the attack scope looks like? I installed PE2 over the top of 1.5, TMO and RSRD and i got a plain crosshair which im sure isnt correct but im trying to work out what went wrong and im not so hawt on my modding skills.

File in a report ;)
Make sure to include both files (the one you import into, and the one you want to import), and tell me where (at which index) you want it imported. And tell me which S3D version you used.
I found a bug myself yesterday (in 0.7.1) related to importing. It's a sneaky one that probably has been hiding for a long time in many versions (even before "Import dat-file" function). It's not a critical bug (won't corrupt the file) and in most cases it doesn't occur. When it does, the nodes are placed incorrectly in the tree...

I've noticed that the props on enemy ships spin backwards, too. At least those that I've looked at so far. AOTD's fix worked for my 1.5 boat.

Someone commented about the prop fix that the prop shaft span the wrong way. I never even noticed the propellers span the wrong way.

Hi again,
this propeller-mod issue is really curious.
When i use stock-version, the port propeller turns clockwise, the starbord propeller turns counter-clockwise, when you look from stern to bow.
In reality it should be the opposite, i checked it on the site of the USS Bowfin.
The weekend, i took some time to check MadMax' and Anvart's propeller-fixes. I checked it for all boats that are corrected within the mods, but none of them shows a different turn of the propellers. It's still like the stock-version. :damn:
What could i do? I cannot understand that these mods work on some versions, but not with mine. Really no change at all...
Any suggestions?
Thanks, midnite1977
