It would be cool to have the HMS Glorious.

Miner is right ! The Glorious would be a great addition. :D

As we already have the Bourrasque class, I would suggest to go for l'Adroit or le Hardi destroyer classes... But any battleship of these classes (http://www.uboat.net/allies/warships/types.html?navy=FR&type=Battleship) will be good as well (as I'm french ;)).

Months ago, UB234 told everybody that he's working on the Richelieu class... Since then, no news from him. :(

I voted for all three sizes of Merchants/Tankers. They are the ones we are tasked to sink. I would also include very small ships of those categories. Everybody had little coastal ships that nobody has made models of yet, some of them as small as 300 tons.

I like to see British Carriers, small coastal steamers and sailing ships.

I'd like to see more coastal vessels and small craft, like fishing boats, tugboats, light tankers and cargoes running goods from port to port, ferries, etc.

Sure, the warships and big merchies have sex appeal but the small ships and boats would add atmosphere to the game. We're already pretty flush with large ships and warships as it is, with more to come, especially if IABL ever releases his Merchant Fleet mod.

On the other hand, a few more aircraft carriers wouldn't hurt. They seem to be the least common of the warships.

All we need now is someone to rework the Campaign and Missions files to include all these marvelous new additions to SH3/GWX and the other great supermods.

British Carriers and great civil ships are winning for now... :hmm: :hmm:

If someone didnt realized yet, BB CV and big liner encounters are VERY RARE:roll: ...Quite useless having a lot of them. Very beautiful ofcourse, every time that someone release a new bigship model i'm always among the firsts that downloads it!;)

British carriers got my vote. I mean the big main fleet carriers even the Ark even though she was sunk shortly into the war.
Also more merchants small and mid sized, and last but not least some more shipping for the Med country's.

I'd love to see some more Italian naval units, in particular the Diaz/Giussano light cruisers, the Orsa and Gabbiano escort vessels, and the 23.000 tons battleships (Cavour and Duilio classes).
Some Frenchies too -- it would be great to sink a couple of 'em . Candidates: the light cruisers of the Galissonière type, the heavy cruiser Algerie, the Jeanne D'Arc.

(and obviously, but this is OT, a playable 600 class Italian sub...)

Thank God there was no super tanker at this time... Otherwise all seas worldwide would still be polluted nowadays. :o
Let's say good bye to billions of creatures if this ship gets sunk. :o

There is one class of British Battleship sorely missing - the QE class. (Because the Placeholders used by the supermods seriously screw with the realism - once I ran into a british TF in the Indian ocean consisting of four HMS Howes.)

So my vote goes to the QE class, because I miss Warspite and her companions the most in GWX, considering the crucial rule they played in every naval theatre of war (especially norway and the med).

There are already many modders working on merchants like IABL, Rowi etc. I'd rather you work on a beautiful class of warships with a rich history instead of Tanker Variant X.

The biggest tankers during WWII would have been converted whale factories, which were about 20,000 tons tops. I wanted to make a whale factory but I don't think I will for the time being, since there are already a lot of big ships. I think we could use a lot more coastal merchantmen and tankers from between 500-2,500 GRT. If too many large ships are in the merchant roster it tends to cause excessively high scores.

Hey -without Tanker Variant X your BB's would spend the war sitting in port with no bunker fuel! :D Not to mention your Shermans, Spitfires, Jeeps, etc. etc...

I'd like to see more small ships. Already got an arsenal of large liners and merchants. I remember most ships sunk were <5.000 tons. On the other side, a large one like Whalefactory "Terje Viken" would be great too... But my choice was smaller ones

That reminds me. I spent some time looking for photos of Terje Viken, as well as more info about her last voyage. Unfortunately all I could find was one blurry photo from uboat.net. It's too bad that merchantmen in general are not the subjects of intense historical interest, with a few obvious exceptions like "Titanic" and "Lusitania".:nope:

I am working on a new large merchant steamer that is based on ships like the "Cyclops" (the British one, not the US Navy ship). It is a replacement for an existing ship in the mod, so it will not cause average tonnage to go up.

That is correct and I didn't mean to bash anyone's work. I just really, really miss the workhorse of the British fleet in GWX. Somehow, the battle of Narvik doesn't feel real with a nelson class BB instead of the Warspite. *Sniff*

That reminds me - weren't you working on one, IABL?

SUre - I understand, and no offense taken. There are a lot ow warships that I personally wouldn't mind seeing myself, like the Warspite, Atlanta Class, and Glorious.

My Warspite is on hold because of the other ships I'm making, and because someone else is apparently doing her (I forget who).

Thanks guys. Yes, the larger Blue Funnel Line freighters are very interesting to look at, since they were pretty much crammed with deck cranes & ventilator ducts. Recently I read some more details on Cyclops's last voyage - very tragic story, IMO. :nope:

The new Large Merchant #01 is almost finished. I got rid of the island amidships, changed the cranes, and did a lot of work on the bridge.

That's too bad. I might not even finish the Warspite, either because I'm not that good at doing exact likenesses of ships. When I was working on the "Perth" I thought it looked decent - and then discovered inaccuracies once I looked at a high-res line drawing. :damn:

And a right lovely old thing she is, too. Ugly and worn-out, but lovely in her own way.

I'll say you're not! You still haven't fixed the painting in the captain's cabin of that tanker like I asked you to!:rotfl:

Thrue, unfurtunately.
Without Uboat234 is very difficult to proceed with this project.. for now i'm working on some liners (SS Normandie, and maybe Queen Elizabeth, whit small reworking jobs on QM).
I'm reading the status of IAMBECOMELIFE work on the battleship... sadly i think this project is "hard" for every moddere O_O
