View Full Version : Ships just start sinking
So I was stalking a large TF composed of 3 BBs and several ships that I think were Cruisers. Not real sure as I was submerged for a long time. Anyway, I start seeing the sunken ship icon popping up on my map. So I go to my external cam (which I almost never do to "Keep it real") and notice that the ships I thought were cruisers are all sinking for no aparent reason.
Important details: This was in VERY rough seas. I am running TMO, NSM4 and w_clear's environmental mod 1.4. Is it possible any of these mods are causing this? My only thought is that the seas were very rough and these ships started taking damage on account of the rough waves. The BBs and the DDs were fine though. None of them sank. It makes my job a lot easier when ships just start dropping like flies but it is of course, not realistic. Any ideas? Anyone ever seen this?

If it is very rough typhoon like seas, ships can get swamped and sink.

yes you have a problem with mods...
most likely wrong installation order causing a conflict between mods.
The reason why they sink is the crush depth. Every compartment has a certain crush depth. When you have conflicts with mods some compartments may start flooding even when they are actualy not under water.
please post your installation order and which version youre running. 1.4 or 1.5.
If it is 1.5 i can already tell you thats NSM. It is not compatible with 1.5 and WILL cause problems.

I'm running SH4 1.4. I don't have 1.5. After that I install TMO, NSM4 and Environmental mod 1.4. To be honest, I can't remember if I installed NSM4 or Environmental mod first. Thanks for the reply. Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

so this should work. Did you install TMO service packs over NSM?

I did not install the service packs. I believe I read somewhere in another post that you don't need the service packs for TMO if you aren't running 1.5. Correct me if I am wrong.

That is correct. The SPs are for TM for 1.5 ONLY.
