View Full Version : [REL] aye, sir! sound mod

being tired of the lack of naval professionalism and discipline aboard my boat, particularly in regard to the lax 'standard' of call&response, i decided to take the matter in hand and knock some heads together... we'll see how well the boys take to things...
with this little mod, the crew will no longer respond with the all-too landlubberly "yes, sir!", but will now call out a more proper (albeit abbreviated for operational consideration) "aye, sir!".
i'm not a professional sound editor, and am not the most patient bloke in the world, so doubtless there's cleaning and improving of the files that could be done. here at least is a start though.

Someone should ask Neal to do a soundpack for SHIV! There's one mod where he says the "Torpedo running straight" and something, sounded very nice.

you know this is a great idea. i wish we could unbury this one...
itd be a simple swap, instead of the guy saying "torpedo in the water!" i think it would be more appropriate to say "torpedo running hot straight and normal"

i dont think they really said torpedo running hot straight and normal, i think that was just in movies.
i think more likely in reality was they said "torpedo running normal" because they rarely went on straight line so to say it was running straight is hard to know for sure and if they did, they would say "torpedo on course" but thats just IMHO
Someone tryed this, but it never worked right, for me. Might this be changed ?

Then you should read Gene Fluckey's book "Thunder Below". According to Fluckey they did actually say "torpedo running hot, straight and normal".:know:
