Question: Putting ships in harbours

I wonder if someone could offer some advice.

I would like to try to add some more ships in Wilhelmshaven and Kiel. I have little knowledge when it comes to modding the game but understand some of the hows and wheres.

In particular I would like to add two or three ships into Wilhelmhaven along the warfes leading out of the harbour to add a more of a living feel.

Is this something that could be done or is it a nightmare I realy shouldnt touch. I have no idea what files contain the info in order to achieve this. I would like to give it a go however.

Have you tried GWX? They have carried on that work, and it has many many ships in every harbor, and the major warship movements put them in the harbors when they actually were there. The best part of it has been done already.

This is perfect... Thank you bigboywooly, I have downloaded the instructions and had a go at it already.

All went very well so far and I adjusted the escort waypoints because with the new ships I added they confused it somewhat. It all works fine now! All I need to do is check if when coming back into harbour, drift hasnt mucked it all up!

As soon as I get a chance, probably within the next few days I am going to sit down and do it properly as ive now got the jist of it.

Yes I am using GWX 2.0 at ther moment, I should have mentioned that. :oops:

They have done a brilliant job and I am always amazed at what I see next. Hats off to em!! :rock:

What im going to look at is adding more docked ships to Willhelmshaven, Kiel, and Rendsburg. Also im going to look at the bridge near Rendsburg as the bueys are missing.

I try not to over fill harbours as not all PCs can take it
You are going the best route - add as much as your PC can handle

Hello BBW, I just d/l your Mission_editor can I edit the Campaign_SCR file ?
I mean change the speed of a Unit up or down ?
and must I merge the new SCR file withe the original file ?

You can edit the SCR
Always make a back up first though in case of mistakes

Sometimes its easier to make a seperate mis file and merge it after
For instance I did a mis file last night for Iambecomes AA ships
I did that on a seperate mis as had to merge with 12 different SCRs

You can alter the speed up or down but only as fast as the ship will go

You only need to merge if creating a seperate new one
Only make changes in port and rollback Commander if using
Basic stuff

Any problems shout some more
