[TEC] Help, crash while surfacing >_<

Hi everyone and happy Easter!
I've a problem:
sometime, while surfacing, i have boring black screens with CTD (for windows xp this is "error in kernell.dll", but i think it isn't damaged)
Mi pc is an Athlon 3500, 1 GB ram, win xp, ati x550 video card.
I use sh3 + gwx 2.0

@BBW no other mods, only some downloaded ships.

@Hauptbootsmann mmm i think they're stereo, but i'm not sure; where i can find this info on my pc?

More RAM, more RAM, more RAM!!!

My specs were similar to yours and I used to get random CTDs, some of which happened when I surfaced and my computer struggled to generate the extra graphics. The other CTDs happened when I tried to introduce new ships.

Having looked through a number of posts, I took peoples advice and invested in extra RAM (upgrading to 3GB). My system now runs without flaws and I've had no random CTDs even with all of the outstanding ships from the VosDos shipyard.

Go into folder sound and take right click on the sound
click on Qualities (the last page on the map)
Then click fileinfo
now you can see the bitrate, abbot branch size, chanel, abbot branch rate and the audioformat.
I have all my soundfiles in mono and i have no ctd´s
