Hi

Im doing major changes in Campaign_RND.mis and start new career but the changes doesnt seem to make any effect.

I run stock 1.4b SH3.

I change all taskforces in the file to

DelayMin=6 (was 60, not sure what this is, also tried not changing this)
DelayMinInterv=3000 (was 30000)
SpawnProbability=100 (was 20-80)
ReportPosProbability=100 (was often 20)
GameExitDate=19450620 (something higher that stock)

Still i see no more taskforces at all. I track the simulation with SH3Gen on max so i dont really miss anything. Still the sea is just as scarsely populated as before i modded the file.

Can it backtrack to saved original file somehow if something is ill-written in the file? It doesnt crash on startup so it appears to be valid. Anything else i need to change to make it work?

Thanks
Erik

a good place to begin with the stock campaign editing is to go to your data/cfg folder and edit the contacts.cfg to increase these two settings

Display Range To Opportunity Radio Contacts=4500 ;[>0] kilometers
Display Range To Important Radio Contacts=4500 ;[>0] kilometers

this will give you much more global reporting of contacts....then you can see just how many convoys taskforces are knocking about and wether what you have done has increased them at all..

all the convoys and taskforces have a start date as well as a finish date
the dates are devised to stop one convoy at a certain date and to replace it with another from the same date..perhaps with better escorts or different ships route speed etc...
same with task forces

your on the right track but if you just want to get contact on the task forces then setting your displayrange settings higher will reveal much more of the traffic on the map...then the chances are you can just set all the stock taskforces to give contact reports (i think most TF's don't come with contact reports as stock..can't remember of hand tho)

there is a lot of traffic as stock on the map..being able to see it helps enormously when sussing out what to edit
can't say of hand why tho your edit hasn't worked...
