JonZ's medals for SHIV: UBoat Missions by Dowly
http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee274/Finnish_Ferret/NewMedals.jpg

Description
---------------

This mod replaces the stock medals in SHIV:UM with historical accurate ones,
complete with swastikas and stuff. Also, the Knight's Cross is replaced with
the normal KC instead of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds.

Installation
---------------

Either drop the JonZ'sMedals folder to the JSGME's MODS folder and activate it
OR
Manually replace the original files by copy & pasting the Data folder inside the
JonZ'sMedals folder to your SHIV directory.

Rofl, well.. yeh. :88) I think I'd be still looking for it. :yep:

Oh and abit OT, has anyone made accurate German flags for SHIV? Trigger Maru or other mods? I made them accurate flags for personal use, but if there's none out there, I can upload them too.

I don't think the flags have been looked at Dowly. Most have been busy with the mechanics of the game and game play. Let's see what you have.

It's just the stock german flags with swastikas painted in center. ;) I'll make a new thread for it.

Yes, I released a National Flags mod that will be part of RFB, and it has historically correct German flags:

TBH, I was expecting someone to release a new medal pack somewhere around when I was struggling with some "technical difficulties". :rotfl:Lazy bstards here. :yep::p

It's really nice work, Dowly. Now we just need someone to clean up the censored posters and the documents strewn around the career office. Here's an un-censored version of one of the posters that shows up:

Superb work Dowly. Thanks for your craftsmanship on making this game much better looking and much more historical in detail as well. Good hunting mate.

As I have thought about it, I believe that the career office could be given a makeover for authenticity as LukeFF suggested. Dowly, would you consider turning your artistry over to spiffing up the U-boat commander's digs? :|\\

Hello,

if someone is going to do this, I would like to draw the attention of the community to the following (hilarious) mistake: the promotions are signed "Dönitz, Großadmiral a.D." which means "außer Dienst" = "in retirement". Did you ever hear of a Großadmiral making promotions in retirement??? :o:rotfl:

The reason for this lapsus is obvious: AFTER the war Dönitz signed all his letters (he lived until 1980!!) with Großadmiral a.D. and this is what the people at UBI-Soft were coming accross (the signature itself looks almost identical to the pretyped one found on Dönitz' post-war-letters). Obviously not understanding German properly, they thought a.D. was part of the military rank.

There are also a few mistakes in old german script (no distinction between long-s and final-s, but this is a very common mistake, Unterseeboote e.g. must look like Unterfeeboote with long-s in old german script.)

On purpose, mate. Atlantic is where my uboat belongs, so it's waiting in my shelf for the GWX guys to do something about it. ;)

Tho, I'm thinking of reinstalling it just to see what could be done to make the office better. :yep:

Actually, might aswell install it rightaway.

Dowly, well that's good to hear. I too enjoy the Atlantic the best and keep my SH3 well oiled. The future looks bright for SH4 to encompass the Atlantic though so let's stay tuned.

You may have noticed that LukeFF made a go of sporting up the U-boat commander's office: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=134404

Good hunting!

Hey, they're both simulations at least! And I can recommend a great site for The Sims 2 modifications :rotfl:

Kaptain: Chief, report! Why are the aft torpedo reloads still topside? I want a report now!

Chief: The men just seemed lonely so we had some sharing time and special hugs.

Kaptain: Very well. Carry on then.
