Hi
Is there any mod that increases the max time compression (x1024)? And raises the minimum in certain situation (x8 when close to bad guys for example, x32 when in vicinity of bad guys)
Is there any mod that generally increases the amount of ships going around in the campaign?
Ideally, could i tweak some files to achieve these stuff? I tried out GWX2.0 but that made it run to slow on my computer so im sticking close to vanilla SH3...
Thanks a lot

sure its all in the Main cfg file
here
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg
look for this
[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=128 {why you cant get out of harbour fast}
CriticalDamage=1 {max allowed with critical damage)
CrewEfficiency=1 {when crew efficiency turns off}<-----ooops must be my install
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=8
RadioReport=8
Particles=8
PrayState=8 {when they are hunting you)
HunterState=32 {when your hunting them}
3DRender=32
Maximum=1024
I wouldnt recommend exceeding 4096 on maximum

I use SH3 Commander to control TC levels based on event - e.g., drop to 1x on spotting an airplane but to 8x on sighting a ship, etc.

Erik,
You can download 'Wolfies Tweeks' to mod this item and other stuff. http://rs17.rapidshare.com/files/11722009/WolfiesTweekPak.rar The file 'tweekSH3.exe' mods the main.cfg file and the maps.cfg files. TweekSUB allows you to change your standard torpedo loadout for whatever sub you are driving.
How fast you can timetravel is a combination of how many targets SH3 is seeing (even though you don't see them) and how good you computer is.
I run with both 'enemy detected' settings at 1. That way I drop out of warp if an enemy appears. I can then decide what I need to do, hopefully, before they even spot me.
Also, one line you might want to add to your maps.cfg file that 'Wolfies Tweeks' doesn't do is add the line 'HarborZoom=50;harbors will be displayed from this zoom up'. Just copy it from the [Map0] section to the [Map1] section. Then the harbor will be seen on your attack screen.

Thanks a lot guys
This handles the TC. But what about increasing general ship activity? I found that i can edit Campaign_RND.mis in the data/campaign/campaign folder. But its huge!
Is there any tweak i can do to these files to generally have more of everything on the seas? More merchants more warships, more airplanes.
Thanks

The stock game has way too many ships. Every mod that has less ships was done just that way - one at a time. A lot of hard work by a lot of dedicated people.
If you want it different you're stuck doing it all over again.

You can try upping the spawn rates
They are many and varied though so its pot luck
Use the replace function in notepad
SpawnProbability=75
to
SpawnProbability=100
etc
Will increase shipping levels

but most are already at 100. Is it possible to have more prob then 100? Is it just a factor, can i set spawnProbability to for example 400?
Also, these changes, do they need a new career to be started to take effect? I tried to increase the speed of some uboats but nothing changed.

Suliman,
I put some of Time Travelers mods up on filefront. If you download the SH3 Inspector file, you will be able to change the speed of the subs and many, many other things. The speed is stored in the .sim file (ie. NSS_Uboat21.sim) not in the NSS_Uboat21.cfg file even though it is listed there too. SH3 Inspector modifies the .sim file and the .zone file of what ever sub you choose. You will need to restart the game for the mod to take effect but you don't have to restart your career or your mission. Just save, exit, re-start, & reload. You be right back where you were with a faster sub.
the Inspector will also launch the config file for editing with notepad. Things that you might want to modify are crash dive - I put mine at 50m to keep me hitting bottom west of Brest.
Depending on the sub you are driving, you may want to adjust the 'Ahead Slow' parameter in the .cfg file for that boat. For instance, if you lower the number, which is a decimal factor of Flank speed, you can get your RPM's under 100. At 100 RPM you are pretty much invisible to escorts in the stock game unless they drive right over you with active sonar. If you really want to build a super-sub that's high speed and ultra quiet then use SH3 inspector to set you electric RPM to 100. Then you can cruise around at maximum warp speed and be as quiet as a 688 class nuke-um boat!
I also put Wolfie's tweek pac up there too, in case you hadn't found it. You can add extra torpedoes and have whatever type of eel that you want. Try all type I's in the front and Type V's in the back. Use SH3 to change the torpedo's speed. If you crank up the 'Impulse' factor to 3000 or 4000, you'll get some fairly good explosions without throwing the smaller ships up into the air. However, to do more actual damage to your targets, you'll need to use Time Travelers MinTweaker program. It's up there too along with the .txt files that you will need to use it.
